- Level 2 Minimum Requirement: Beat Tea Gardner, Tristan Taylor, Ryou Bakura, Trusdale, and Yugi Muto 3 times each and meet a requirement for each character.
Level 2 Duelists
- Rex Raptor: Collect X amount of Blue Eyes White Dragon set
- Espa Roba: Collect X amount of Red Eyes Black Dragon set
- Weevil Underwood: Collect X amount of Black Skull Dragon set
- Bonz -Bonz: Collect X amount of Barrel Dragon set
- Mako Tsunami: Mako - collect X amount of Black Luster Soldier set
- Level 3 Minimum Requirements: Beat Rex Raptor, Espa Roba, Weevil Underwood, Bonz, and Mako Tsunami 5 times each and meet a requirement for each character.
Lv 3 Duelists
- Mai Valentine: Have no Harpie Feather Dusters in your deck, AND have a harpie lady in your trunk.
- Bandit Keith: Have a Barrel Dragon in trunk
- Joey Wheeler: Have a Jinzo in trunk
- Maximillion Pegasus: have Toon world, Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon and Toon Summoned Skull in trunk
- Level 4 (Ghouls) Minimum Requirements: Beat Mai Valentine, Bandit Keith, Joey Wheeler, and Maximillion Pegasus 7 times each and meet a requirement for each character.
Level 4 (Ghouls)
Choosing This character will make you fight one of the ghouls at random, also, beat Marik Ishtar once and "ghouls" will disappear and be replaced by each Ghoul so you can now choose which to fight.

- Level 5 (Marik Ishtar) requirement: Defeat Rare Hunter, Arkana, Odion, Strings, and Umbra/Lumis (from the "ghouls" character option) once each.
