July 29, 2005 - IGN has always been on top of things; that's why we periodically gather a list of the nastiest game-stopping glitches and offer recommendations on how to avoid them. While not everyone is destined to experience the same "bugs", we know how frustrating they can be for the gamers who do face them. Here're some recently reported glitches/bugs to look out for: KillZone andGod of War.
God Of War
Platform: PS2
Bug/Glitch: Just thought I'd let you know I've encountered that same final battle bug against Aries. I can't finish the game now. I tried turning off Progressive scan and surround sound the second time around. It seemed to help and I came VERY close to finishing the game, but it crashed in the same manner. I'm at a loss now.
Fix/Solution: I just wrote to say I encountered the same final battle with Aries bug. I think I found a way around it. I noticed that the game only crashes during the 'O' button mashing if I am in a certain spot of the battle arena. I just stayed away from that area and was able to complete the game successfully with a few moments of 'O' mashing. The area in question seems to be right of the center (as you're looking at it when the view zooms out for one of Aries' attacks). I just stayed near the cliffs/edges and seemed to do pretty well. I hope this can help some people finish this great game!

Bug/Glitch: Early in the game, when Fighting the Main Boss Hydra, I'll mash the Hydra's head into the pole an infinate number of times without the pole breaking-- as it should after just 3 times.
Fix/Solution: None provided.

KillZone
Platform: PS2
Bug/Glitch: Canyon Crossing Giltch. First of all go to the big bridge in the middle of the stage. Now go to the big tower near the bridge. Head towards the top and get on the ledge of the tower right in the middle. Now you want to fall onto the right ledge below. (one nearest to the bridge) Once upon on it move forward until your right around the middle of it. Then inch by inch fall of on the railing below. Once on the railing, head all the way towards to top of the canyon and then get off the railing. Now your in the canyon!
Fix/Solution: None provided.
Bug/Glitch: Park Terminal Giltch. Go towards where you can find the shotgun (below the bridge where the rocket launcher is), you will see there are boxes there. Go up to the box and start moving toward it and also constantly croutch up and down. You should eventually get on top of the boxes and now you can fall onto the train tracks.
Fix/Solution: None provided.
Bug/Glitch: Beach Giltch. First go to the top of the Helghast Tower, then face the broken ledge and walk up on it as much as you can. Now look down and you see the ledge below. Fall on that ledge and you will be in mid-air! You must stay on that ledge's line or you will fall off. If you have enough people, get a few to line up where the ledge ends towards to the water. While your up on the ledge fall on their heads and walk all to the water. Now your in the water.
Fix/Solution: None provided.
Bug/Glitch: Croutch Giltch. Start moving back and forth, while doing so start pressing the circle button (switching weapons) and then croutch while still switching your weapons. Now you should be croutching but will going the same speed as a regular walk. Also on your screen, your view is still as your standing up but when others see you they see you croutching.
Fix/Solution: None provided.
Bug/Glitch: Speed Giltch. While your running begin pressing the circle button to change your weapons, when you run out of stamina you will keep your speed. Make sure to keep switching your weapons constantly when doing so.
Fix/Solution: None provided.
