IGN TV's Top 10 Scrubs Characters
I'm personally a huge fan of Elliot (more than just the hotness) because of how much I can relate with her. It's the same story with J.D., but his daydreams are typically the highlight of the show for me. Doug is a constant source of comedy, and Turk's dancing is always fun to watch. The only person on the show I don't like is Carla, but she is valuable.

Hey Ben,
Thanks for the feedback. We here at IGN are fans of all the characters on the show... and while we wouldn't say that we dislike Carla in anyway, we agree that she is the least funny main cast member. Also, we love Elliot as well, but we would have a hard time placing her above J.D., Turk and Cox - those three characters alone make the show worth watching.

What about Doug? For as much of a fan as I am of The Todd, I feel Doug should've been in the top 10 instead of The Todd. I mean come on, when JD was in a morgue bag and then tries to get out of it Doug decides to beat him with a fire extingusher if I remember correctly. Then when JD ask why Doug says something like dead people stay dead. I don't quite remember the line, but also who loses a dead body? Doug is awesome.
--Mike
Hi Mike,
I can't argue with the quality of Doug's character. Any person that is so bad at being a doctor that they place them in the morgue to stop killing their patients is a character that we want to see more of. Unfortunately we thought that due to having more screen time than Doug, and more quality gags that we would add Todd.
Oh and the episode you are thinking of was "My Way Home," where Doug says: "Dead people should be dead!" What a good episode... any Scrubs fan who hasn't seen it should.

I would have to move dr. kelso and the janitor up to 3 and 4 just because basically every episode they always make crazy quirps that end up with me barely being able to breath since I'm laughing so hard.

Hey Jake,
Kelso and the Janitor happen to be two of my favorite characters as well. But due to the fact that Scrubs has so many good characters, we had to drop them to the middle of the list. I mean really, can you honestly say that the Janitor is better than Dr. Cox?
Thanks for the email.
--Dan Iverson
Could you guys have been more conventional with your top 10? Not even mentioning the order, of which is conventional enough, the characters even selected were far too obvious. Main characters you left off the list: none. Recurring characters for more than 12 shows that didn't make the list: Nurse Roberts, Keith Dudemeister, Doug, Dr. Wen and Lonnie. Maybe, by now, Cabbage and a few of the interns. Wow. How could you have missed those?
My point is while lists will work great for a show like lost, or the simpson, etc., making a list for scrubs isn't worth it unless your going to deviate from the norm a little, just like the show does.
--Beef
Yawn. Thanks for trying to sound smart, Beef.
While we appreciate constructive criticism and comments on our lists, I think you may have missed the fact that it was our favorite Scrubs characters... not favorite secondary or guest characters (which we are still thinking about doing, if you guys are interested). We totally love characters like Keith, Nurse Roberts and Doug, but ultimately we decided that Dr. Cox, Turk, J.D., the Janitor, Elliot, Kelso, Carla, Todd, Jordan and Todd were better picks - plus if we missed any of those characters we would have got a flood of emails asking us how we could have missed putting Ted or Todd on our list. Think about it, Beef, we picked our ten favorite characters from a show that has at least forty great characters on it - of course we are going to miss out on a few of your favorites. The same thing happened when we did our favorite Lost characters list, as well as our favorite secondary & guest characters from The Simpsons. That's just the way it goes, so just because we don't have your favorite characters, that doesn't mean that your calling our list "conventional" holds any weight.
Otherwise, thanks for reading the site, and keep your eyes open for more Scrubs features in the future.

3. My third favorite character would easily be Janitor. Although in the first 2 seasons his character was a 2-dimensional person whose only purpose was the heckle JD, as the show progesses, we get to see more and more of him, and I like it.
2. Dr. Robert "Bob" Kelso comes next for me, without question. Bob's "I'll do whatever I damn-well please" attitude never ceases to delight me, because even if we've seen his softer side (such as carpooling with Carla), we know that it's just a moment of weakness (like when he later splashes her with muddy water and speeds off without her).
1. Dr. Cox is my favorite, absolutely. I've always been a fan of John C. Mcginley, so you can imagine my delight when I first saw him on Scrubs. His wacky monologues, his "Alpha Male" personality, and most of all his moments where he shows that he truly has a heart of gold make him the cream of the crop for me.
Honorable Mention: Dr. Doug (now working in the morgue). Hilarious.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the lists! While I don't totally agree with your lists, I've got nothing but respect for your choices. BTW, we had Doug at a very close 11, but we had to give the spot to Ted, as his character deserves the recognition.
So thanks again for your input, and keep your comments coming!
