Kaz Hirai and other Sony bigwigs get promoted.
By Li C. Kuo | Nov. 30, 2006
Jack Tretton, formerly the Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Sony Computer Entertainment America, will fill in the gap left by Hirai and become the new President and CEO for SCEA. That's not all. David Reeves, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, is being named Deputy President of SCEI. These changes will all take effect on December 1.
So what does this all mean? Basically, the younger guys are getting more power and it looks like Kutaragi is taking a step back to make way. We're every bit as curious as Sony probably is to see how this shuffle works out in the long run.
