All by myself  [ 2 Comments BERJAYA ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Player Editorials
To go along with the new poll, some new thoughts..."All by myself."

For many people the ability to solo is an important one. Weather it is that they are coming to the genre for the first time, has very limited play times, or has unusual play times. Whatever the reason it is important to this group to be able to not only solo, but solo well. It is not only this group that wants the ability to solo addressed in WAR. Even the everyday player enjoys soloing once and while. Therefore it is important to them as well that a system be put into place that always them to solo almost, if not as well as group play.

Warhammer Vault Topic of the Week!! "Guild or no Guild"  [ 16 Comments BERJAYA ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Topic of the Week
Brand new Topic of the Week for you today.

Guild or No Guild??

MMORPG's enable us to reach out to people all over the world and interact with them. People we would never have had a snowballs chance in you know where of meeting suddenly are great friends that share in our online adventures. I have always been a huge fan of guilds, I think they bring my enjoyment of my gaming time to an even higher level. On the flip side there are some that have absolutely zero interest in joining a guild, they spend the major part of their gaming time going solo and absolutely love it. So this week I want to know what you think about guilds. Tell me about your play style and any experiences you have had.

If you would like to see your idea here on our Topic of the Week please contact Swanny. If your topic is chosen you can win 1 week forum VIP or a perma board title.

Book of Shadows Chapter Two: Bleak Destiny  [ 11 Comments BERJAYA ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Topic of the Week
Stuart is back after a brief holiday break with Chapter Two: Bleak Destiny.

Our guns are useless, the old dwarf replied, throwing down his pistol. They bear the endowments of the enemy and no mere shot will deter them from their goal. Take up your axes.

The final gunshots exploded across the camp, and then everything fell into a strange quiet.

And then from nowhere I saw a shambling body amble forth and the breath hung in my throat. It looked like a normal person from the side, a young man of perhaps twenty with long blond hair, yet he turned toward me and his face was stricken in a hateful grin. His eyes were entirely black and from his mouth came a lustful, hissing sigh that filled me with panic. Gone were all traces of humanity, replaced by something utterly alien and indelibly malevolent. I could taste the Chaos which surrounded him, could sense the being that inhabited his flesh and worked him as a puppeteer would his marionettes. Bile rose in my throat and I was filled with the urge to vomit, yet my stomach was empty and all I could do was hack in uncontrolled spasms upon the earth. What had happened to this man? Where was Sigmar? How could any of the gods allow this to happen to the innocent?

  Console WAR  [ 8 Comments BERJAYA ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Player Editorials
Today I am pleased to share with you my topic of the week "Is a Console port a good idea? "

First off WAR on a console system could be a great idea, that being said, I would like to see two completely different set of servers. The crowd that will play WAR on the PC will for the most part, use outside VOIP software (i.e Teamspeak, Ventrillo, or Skype.) while playing the game.

Warhammer Online Interview at IGN  [ Comment BERJAYA ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Interviews
New Interview up at IGN. IGN Sits down with Steve Perkins, Director of Marketing for EA/Mythic in a bid to find out what to expect when Warhammer Online hits in 2007.

How closely have you worked with Games Workshop to ensure the Warhammer universe in the online game is as close to the world they created?

Steve Perkins: We are working very closely with Games Workshop on this game and we have an amazing relationship with them. Given the wonderfully fanatic nature of the Warhammer fan, we know we have to nail every detail in the game or suffer the consequences. Who better to arm us with the knowledge we need than the guys that created the world. We'd be remiss if we didn't tap their brains on a regular basis for ideas.

Games Workshop sees everything we do and they are constantly bringing us new ideas for the game. They realize they have as much at stake in WAR as we do and want it to be wildly successful as well. If some of the true fans question any of the choices we have made or the direction we have taken when translating Warhammer doctrine for an MMO, they should rest assured that we have not done so without the full blessing and support of Games Workshop.

BERJAYA"More than any other subjects of the Empire, the Nordlanders know what it means to live under the shadow of Chaos. The Barony of Nordland lies but a short sail across the Sea of Claws from the havens of the Northmen. Constant incursions by these savage barbarians are nothing new to the Nordlanders; they have withstood assaults from the hordes of Chaos for centuries."

New Warhammer Interviews  [ 7 Comments BERJAYA ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Interviews
Two new interviews have made their appearance, some really great reads!!

The fist is an interview with Jeff Hickman and Paul Barnett at Killer Betties.com
This past Thursday, Killer Betties got to sit in on a conference call with EA Mythic representatives Jeff Hickman (senior producer for WAR) and Paul Barnett (creative director for WAR and crazy British fellow). The two had a lot to share about the upcoming Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning MMORPG, and based on what they told us, MMORPG fans all across the globe will have a lot to look forward to when the game is released, especially if you love fighting other players in your MMORPGs. So settle in for a nice, long chat and see what you have to look foward to the game. Also included are some exclusive screenshots of the game only participants of the call were allowed.
Click here to read the full interview...

The second snags the same duo, (Jeff and Paul) an gets indepth into PVP and PVE, a good read!. PC Gamezone Interview
Jeff wanted to stress, repeatedly, the importance and superiority of Warhammer Onlines Realm vs. Realm combat. Throughout your game experience, you can choose to either fight monsters and do quests, or you can choose to go out and participate in player hunting and warfare against the other realms, he says. This can happen from the moment you enter the game, it can happen all the time you can participate any time you want or it can happen as little as you want. Its your choice how you want to play the game.

RvR really does set the game apart in that it is truly above and beyond what we would normally call PvP (Player vs. Player). You have a realm of friends behind you. Theyre always your realm of friends, theyre always there to help you. We invested in the game full of realm pride, where you really are encouraged to defend your realm, to defend your land, to defend your capital city from the incursions that are always coming your way. Realm vs. Realm is a very unique feature that weve implemented in a very deep way, again from the beginning through every area of the game.

Topic of the Week! Whats one feature that would make your jaw drop in awe?  [ 99 Comments BERJAYA ]
Print News | Mail News | Category: Topic of the Week
GodsHackeySack0 sends us this weeks Topic of the Week. He wants to know one feature that Mythic could put into Warhammer Online that would make your jaw drop?

What kind of feature could Mythic add to WAR that would just make your jaw drop (In the good way!)? Something that you've never seen in an MMO, but always thought it'd be nice to see in game.

For me, it may sound weird, but I always thought it'd be neat to find a boss way out of the way of normal gameplay. In the very corners of the planet, where you could only find it by accident, a giant boss down inside a deep cave. At launch they could have it in as a boss that's not supposed to be beaten. Sort of there as a challenge. Maybe as your forming your guilds, someday you want to be able to take it down, but it could be ages before that happens for anybody. As more and more crazy strategies come out and players begin to work together more tight-knit, or even after expansions go by, players will finally be able to bring it down. Then being the first to bring that dragon, or whatever it is, down would actually mean something. I've always wanted a real sense of accomplishment from my artificial worlds =D

Thanks GodsHackeySack0, please contact me to claim your prize!!
