Reuters has a report online discussing EA's cash returns from in-game advertising.
Electronic Arts Inc. Chief Executive Officer Lawrence Probst said on Wednesday the company expects $4 million to $5 million in in-game advertising revenues from its new "Need for Speed Carbon" game this quarter.
Probst, who heads the world's largest video game maker, told the Reuters Media Summit in New York that advertising revenues from the newest game in EA's popular car racing franchise would be split between dynamic and static advertisements.
Thanks to FPSAdmin for the heads-up.

Incoming Airdrop: Ask JPaq #5

A brand new "airdrop" has hit the official Medal of Honor: Airborne Web site. In this issue, JPaq discusses being able to see your torso in game. Check out the excerpt:
From Mike Hi. I was just wondering if there will be the 'camera on top of head' view point (where you can look down and see your body)?
JPAQ - Hi, Mike. Great question. We do have a player-controlled camera attached to a player mesh (actually right between the eyes). Sometimes we draw the entire body (this makes parachuting look really cool and funsee image below). But sometimes we stop drawing the body and instead focus only on whats important for a first-person shooterthat is, the hands and the weapon.

Gaming on Windows Vista
Miscellaneous - Sunday, November 26, 2006, 23:15 -

ActionTrip has posted an interview with Rich Wickham, manager over at Microsoft for the Games for Windows business division. Here's an excerpt:
ActionTrip: We wanted to know more about future Vista and Xbox 360 compatibility. Could you offer us a more detailed insight on the way users will be able to connect their home PCs with their Xbox 360 units?
Rich Wickham: As you know, you currently can use your Xbox 360 as an extender with your Media Center PC. That integration is tighter in Windows Vista, and I think you'll see more and more folks connecting their devices on home networks. At home, I stream my photos and music from my PC to my Xbox 360, which is very cool.
