Week in Review[ 7 Comments ] Print News | Mail News | Category: Topic of the week Just about every realm/cluster have unlocked the Mauler by now. Pretty cool class, huh? Action has died down inside the Laby with so many people leveling up their shiny new toons, but should Mythic ever have any more double rp weekends inside, expect it to pick back up.
The wind is blowing like you wouldn't believe, and we have thunderstorms rolling through, too, which is really odd for this time of year in Virginia. How does this affect you? Well, I'm sorry to say that we had previously planned to turn off the Agramon realm point bonuses today (mentioned here), but our intenet connection has been less than stable this afternoon. Don't worry, this won't affect any of our servers, which are tucked safely away at another location. The good news is, the bonus will be available until Monday, so enjoy the extra weekend of Agramon RP bonuses!
- Pathing in Labyrinth has been updated, addressing some line-of-sight issues on the spiral staircases. This update also added pathing to the sanctuary rooms.
- Added an additional failsafe timer to the monster 'Master Norr'ice' and 'Prelate Quietus II' to ensure they reset properly. This should help prevent a rare occurrence where the main mob would remain in its shade form and stall the encounter.
- Because the entrance room is now a 'safe spot', the entire room is now covered by the mechanism that moves inactive characters. If a character remains in the entrance for more than 15 minutes, they will automatically be moved to the sanctuary room appropriate to their realm. This timer will be cleared when you leave the safety of the room and head into the halls of the Labyrinth.
- If a character dies in their realm's entrance of the Labyrinth, they will no longer be moved to the sanctuary room if they are still dead when their timer goes off.
- "The One" Savage Claw has been changed from 4.2 speed to 4.4 speed.
- Delve information has been added to many Mythirian pieces to better explain the bonuses they grant.
wish I had a few more details, but I wanted to post as soon as the plan came through. The live servers will be coming down this Thursday at 8:00 AM EST for a few fixes. We expect to be back up on around 3:30 PM. There will be a Pendragon patch tomorrow at 2:00 PM EST, and more detailed notes will follow.
The Minotaur Relic count for unlocking the Mauler class has been lowered from 10 to 7.
- The fallen adventurers in the Labyrinth entrance tunnels will now be aggressive, and not Realm friendly on Gaheris and Mordred. This addresses any issues with multi-realm groups being able to attack these particular monsters.
- The Minotaur Relic bonuses on Gaheris have been increased from 1 hour duration to 2 hour duration.
- The Realm guards found at the primary entrances to the Labyrinth now properly attack all enemy pets.
- Players may now stealth again near the entrance tunnels leading into the Labyrinth.
The expansion really doesn't sound like a whole lot, but it's a lot better than last year's offering of Darkness Rising. What makes it so great is that it offers players a centralized area for realm-vs.-realm combat with action going on 24/7. It does get a little laggy, but people on higher-end machines really shouldn't notice it very much. The client is still based on the older Catacombs engine, but it's much more stable due to the fact that Mythic locked down a lot of memory leaks and other older, nagging issues. Visually, the game looks nice cranked up, even by today's standards, but you can't use those settings and expect a lag-free experience. Classic models in the LotM client offer a great balance of performance and visual appeal. If you enjoy battlegrounds-style gameplay, you can't go wrong RvR'ing in the Labyrinth.
- All newly created Minotaurs should now properly start in the appropriate starter guild.
- The Labyrinth no longer provides a double bonus to Realm Points.
- The Realm guards stationed at the Labyrinth entrances should now attack Necromancer pets.
- The monsters in the entrance tunnels in the Labyrinth now con as neutral. The undead fallen adventurer monsters are now tied to the corresponding Realm entrance tunnels. Example: A Midgard undead monster in the Midgard tunnels will now show as friendly to Midgard characters and as aggressive to Albion and Hibernia.
- Emissary: Proof of Strength - Players on the Hibernian version of this quest will now be properly rewarded for completing it via the PvE method on servers other than Gaheris.
- The sell back value for the following items has been corrected: Sigil Enchanted Mail Hauberk, Sigil Ensorcelled Mail Hauberk, Rune Bound Starkakedja Hauberk, Rune Scribed Starkakedja Hauberk, Decorated Osnadurtha Hauberk, Spell Marked Osnadurtha Hauberk. Newly created items will sell back for the appropriate value. This update is not retro-active; items that are currently unable to be sold can be given to the Armorsmith Master in the Capital City for a refund.
- The sell back value for newly created Benthic Mauler Staves has been corrected. Items with the old sellback value can be given to the Fletchers Master in the Capital Cities for a refund.
- The Benthic Mauler Shod Staff will now correctly proc a cold debuff.
- Increased the aggro range of the Elite Guardians on Agramon Island.
We kicked off the Come Back To Camelot campaign this morning. All inactive accounts (ones that were in good standing) have been reactivated for ten days.
To celebrate, and as a little thank you to all of our current players, the Moderately Evil Overlord and his minion (Content Boss Rob) decided that in ADDITION to the SI/RVR bonus experience, we would also activate double Realm Points and double Bounty points on Agramon Island. Enjoy.
The guys have been sweating over the lag problem since the servers came up. Things have improved somewhat, as you probably noticed without me saying so, and they are continuing to work on it. If we need to do more server downtime to accomplish more, I will let you know as soon as I hear.
- The number of Minotaur relics needed to unlock the Mauler class has been reduced to ten.
- Monster pathing and line-of-sight has been improved throughout the Labyrinth dungeon.
- The PvP immunity timer granted from using the Obelisks has been increased to 15 seconds.
- Three rooms have been added to the Labyrinth as a sanctuary for inactive characters. An obelisk in each realm's entrance will allow characters to teleport to the room designated for their realm, and an obelisk inside the remote room will allow players to return to the entrance. Characters that stay at the entrance for more than 15 minutes will automatically be moved to the remote room (similar to the procedure at the New Frontiers Border Keep). If characters leave the safety of the entrance (drop off the entrance ledge and enter the Labyrinth proper), the 15-minute timer will be cleared. If they return to the entrance again later, the timer will begin again.
- Additional lower-level realm guards have been added to the spiral staircases leading into the Hub.
- Unraveling: Crush the Alliance - Commanders Ellerdos, Ottogron, and Bertuch, along with their soldiers, have been moved from the Labyrinth entrance rooms to the side rooms off the stairs leading into the central hub of the Labyrinth.
- Monsters in Labyrinth over level 61 now reward players with Master Level experience.
- Corrupt apprentices now have fewer hit points.
- Speaking with the King will now advance Champion Levels in a manner appropriate to the expansion.
- The nexus rift lightning in Nurizanes Crossroads will now affect Forest Hearts and Tanglers cast on the obelisk platforms. However, unlike players, they will be affected immediately with no timer.
- The caverns surrounding the main entrances inside the Labyrinth are now safe locations. Realm guards have been stationed at the stairs leading further into the Labyrinth.
"I'm so sorry for the lack of detailed notice regarding this morning's downtime. The servers are currently down so that we can deliver some new pathing data for the Labyrinth, as explained in Sanya's Grab Bag on Friday.
We expect to have the servers up by 3:30pm EST. Again, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Keep an eye here for updates!"
