4.05 - "The Sleeping Beauty" - November 30, 2006
When Taylor learns that Ryan can't sleep, she comes up with her own therapeutic plan to help him get over his insomnia. Meanwhile at Brown, Summer and Che take their activism to a new level, resulting in more freedom than they expected. Kaitlin, after being served by her own mom in tennis lessons, volleys back at Julie but helps save the dating service. And when all of Taylor's schemes backfire, she turns to Kaitlin for help with Ryan and in the end gets her way.

New rating system, not really but kinda. This week Peaches, next week, who knows?

today's ep was 4/5 imo
i guess the long layoff kinda hyped it up too much for me

I never saw the preview scenes so I had no hype, well worth 5/5 Peaches. No knock out of the park moments just another solid episode, every part was good I wasn't losing interest during any scenes.

The Good

- Taylor/Ryan - As long as they keep it light and fun I love it. Nothing like the heavy Ryan/Marissa stuff. Even the Ryan Dream Sequences with Taylor being all slutty seem to be light hearted in nature. As long as they keep it like that I love it.

- Julie causing trouble is the Julie I like.

- I like not having Kirsten being a main figure, I never liked her whole alcoholic storyline, she is better as a side character.

The Bad

- They haven't really done anything with Kaitlin yet. Not really a bad thing yet, or even about this episode, its just weird that she is a main character but has yet to even start a real storyline.

So what is next weeks ratings...

Pancakes
Chinese Herbal Teas

or maybe go old school sense this episode was lacking in the name department.

Great episode, it deserved my 5/5. Everything is really funny when it's supposed to be and even funnier when it's done subtly. Che is great, Ryan/Taylor is great, Sandy is great, Julie is great.

Oh and does anyone else get the sense that if the show were to continue, Summer would become some sort of political figure?

It would be nice, but then I would have to make the poll after the episode and I just don't like doing that, I am on the west coast so it wouldn't come up for at least 3 hours after some east coasters have seen it. I could try it though, I just like getting the poll made and out of the way.

Another excellent episode. I can't tell you how happy I am with this season so far. If it gets cancelled, I'll be pissed. Atleast give it a full season and have a proper ending (which in my dream world would have been a Ryan/Marissa wedding, but I'll settle for a Seth/Summer wedding).

I think my idea is still the best. Copy the show Dallas, they killed off a main character did a whole season then at the end brought him back and played it off as a "dream" maybe the greatest thing ever. That way Ryan wakes up Marissa calls him he is like what freaks out and she is like "It was just a dream." Then he is so overwhelmed with joy that he proposes. Small family wedding on beach, End Series.

That would be my idea but since there is basically .001% chance of that happening I would rather not have a Seth/Summer wedding. Just end it with all story's tied up and have every kinda leave the OC, Ryan goes somewhere for blah, Seth and Summer blah blah blah, fill in the blahs, just a nice easy ending, but if they go out with a bang it better be one hell of a bang(points to my own idea).

Also note I will wait to start the next thread/poll until after the episode to give a more appropriate rating. If I can;t think of anything I will default to Bagels, and may just end up using Bagels permanently because I like it too much.

I actually still wouldn't mind the series ending with Ryan dying. End it with his soul leaving his body and going towards Marissa in the light. Wow, that was cheesy as hell and will never happen.... but .....yeah.

I never saw Dallas, and I wouldn't mind that ending, but I really doubt that ever happens.

I never saw the show either, but that part from it is kinda famous for how ludicrous it was.

ehhhhh that dream idea seems wayyyyy too farfetched imo

Anyways,
Good:
- Ryan&Taylor
- kitchen humour is back! (ex. Sandy saying he can't believe Taylor thinks Ryan is funny)
- end of Hippie Summer?
- the whole Love Square w/ the Coopers & Bullit was hilarious

Bad:
- nothing big that i can remember.....

oh btw, does anyone know where i can watch the trailer for next week's ep?

Your the poll maker so it's up to you when you want to make it, but you said yourself you like how the smallville board does it. There is a discussion thread made before the episode airs and then after, the poll is made...so for every episode your gonna have 2 threads, up to you though.

5/5 for this episode, still loving this season, it's great and the girls are so hot, that's always a plus.

I really hate the new summer and that dude Che is great but pisses me off at the same time because he helps bring out the new Summer, they say she got booted so let's just hope she comes back to O.C. as the same old Summer.

I didn't get a chance to see this episode when it first came on but it was great. It was nice to see Summer's time at Brown starting to come to an end so the show can get back to a more normal feel.
