(MotW) Droporade: Rehydrate, Replenish, Refuel PlanetAvP News
| 11/22/2006 | 16:42 PST - David Shipley
Hey, what's up, dudes (plus the occasionally awesome dudette
- you know who you are *wink*). Up for something new? Yeah,
like a new Map
of the Week.
Except it's not new. See, I sort of forgot to post it last week;
yesterday, I found it lying on my inbox. Dumb.
"Maybe crawling around
in the darkness across the open wind blown gantries and navigation
beacons of an off-world refueling station has some kind of
death wish appeal to you. If so, then you'll find this map
to give you just the right amount of vertigo with its wide
open layout and threats of sudden drops into the blackest
of oblivion. Don't expect any Dropships to come and rescue
you if you topple off the edge, though, 'cause the Marines
ain't gonna arrive anytime soon to this refueling station."
-- Windebieste
Sounds great. Dropship Refueling Station, right? I'll
drink to that. Thanks, Windebieste, for the review.

Child Actress Talks AvP2 Movie Movie News | 11/22/2006 | 12:45 PST - David Shipley
Ariel Gade is a child actress and she's in the AvP2 movie. In
an interview on some horror movie award show (not sure when),
she talks about what it is. Here's
the video.
Transcript:
"I play a little girl called Molly. She has a family, and
she lives in Colorado. And ever since, like, the Alien and
Predator came, it's, y'know, kind of getting out of hand."
I find it fascinating when child actors aren't the forty-year-old
midgets they play in film.
Anyway, guy called leprechaun62689 found
that on an Inside Horror video; she talks about three-quarters
of the way through. It might be old - maybe she's a teen now?
Planet AvP can simulate interviews with angst-ridden, ex-child
actors trying to make it in the 'biz:
"Hey Ariel, how's it
going?
It goes. What's up?
It's been years now since your breakthrough role in AvP2.
What lessons did you learn from the experience?
Like maybe I should've waited a few years before I joined
their 'Not Another Teen Movie' cast, yo. I would totally
kill for that now."
Scary part? That's just her - just her in the her room. No interviewer.
Just alone, reminiscing. Like we're gonna do when we watch
the video.

Predator vs. X-Men Fan Film Other News | 11/20/2006 | 11:42 PST - David Shipley
Episodes
and a few trailers of a Predator vs. X-Men fan film's up
at YouTube. Cheesy as hell, but under the circumstances, it's
not bad.
I got a little-kid boner watching it (like half-mast or something).
If
you watch it, you'll like it. Thanks to AdamJZ
for the tip.

Aliens Half-Life 2 Mod: First Screenshot Game News | 11/20/2006 | 11:04 PST - David Shipley
Yeah, I know. AvP2 gets so old, it could put a coke addict to
sleep in the middle of a bender. So when the first screenshot
came out for the Aliens
Half-Life 2 mod, it's like a new addiction -- the
"new coke," it's come!
This little black Alien, it
passes the test. Any more screenshots, man? Just one? Okay,
cool - only started last month.
Looks like there's help wanted.
"We are currently looking
for a lead programmer experienced in Half-Life 2
willing to spend a few hours a week implementing new features
- must be over 18. If you're interested in the placement,
please send an email
with reference!"
Got the talent? E-mail them.
