The NBC network is refusing to air advertisements for the Dixie Chick's new movie, saying that they "cannot accept these spots as they are disparaging to President Bush."
Who needs state media when our "free" media engages in such a high degree of self-censorship?
Well known drug addict, Rush Limbaugh, has accused Michael J. Fox of exaggerating his illness in a commercial for a Democratic candidate in Missouri. In the ad, Fox urges voters to elect Claire McCaskill.
Here's the ad in question:
Here is what Rush said about Michael J. Fox and his appearance in the ad:
Now, this is Michael J. Fox. He's got Parkinson's disease. And in this commercial, he is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He is moving all around and shaking. And it's purely an act. This is the only time I have ever seen Michael J. Fox portray any of the symptoms of the disease he has.
So this is really shameless, folks, this is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting, one of the two.
I think what is truly shameless is accusing someone of exaggerating a disease like Parkinson's.
Rush is catching a little flack for what he said. This is what Imus said on his radio show this morning:
"Rush Limbaugh, a fat, draft-dodging, drug addict -- jacking his maid up, having her buy dope for him -- That fat son of bitch, I mean, enough bad stuff can't happen to him."
And here is what the Washington Post wrote about it:
"Possibly worse than making fun of someone's disability is saying that it's imaginary. That is not to mock someone's body, but to challenge a person's guts, integrity, sanity."
Actually, I think Fox has stated that he doesn't take medication when making appearances, ads in order for the public to get a glimpse of the real disease.
I found this video over at Scoobie's. It's pretty entertaining. The video is from an MSNBC interview with a Democratic and a Republican strategist. The Democrat, Cliff Schecter, tears Karen Hanretty, the Republican, apart.
Check out how pissed she looks at the end. Ha ha ha ha
The ol' blog seems to be getting very little traffic these days. I suspect that is in direct correlation to the amount of posting I've been doing. I go through phases, as any regular reader has no doubt already noticed. Fortunately, Russ and Z post occasionally or this place might have tumbleweed blowing across the screen.
I have been sending in thoughts to the internets, albeit not very deep thoughts. I've been posting on my Myspace blog. Do you ever get those questionnaries in your e-mail - the ones asking you 50 questions like What is your favorite food?, Where do you wish you were right now?, and What color socks are you wearing?? I love those things. I have a internet-pal (I wonder if that will sound less geeky in 10 years?) who likes to send those out to her friends. So, I've been posting those as blog entries on my profile there. If you're into that sort of thing too and want to read my answers to inane questions, go right ahead. I'll read yours, wherever you see fit to post 'em.
Things are going pretty well around these parts. A good friend of mine is making a long trip from Malaysia to visit us in just a few short days. I can't wait to see him. It's been three years. We lived together in Myers (which seems like a million years ago) and we've been tight ever since. It's very difficult for people to come to America (legally) and he had to head back to Malaysia in order to get a proper job. I wish he'd been able to stay. He has lots of skills - dog training skills, redneck skills, car fixing skills, muddin' skills, joke skills, drinkin' skills, and much more. Evidently no companies in the U.S. found those skills worthy enough to sponsor my dear friend. Their loss.
We were intending to go to Florida this week for The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (suck it Michael Adams), but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Laura has her plate full to the brim with Pharmacy School and the idea of having two weekends without studying (the game this weekend and Daniel the next) nearly pushed her over the edge. So, we've had to become bad friends and gimp out on the group heading down to Jacksonville. But we are sending our tickets and paying our part, none of which makes up for our abscence, but it's better than nothing.
I'm taking a motorcycle training course in a few weeks. I'm pretty stoked about it. The deal was that I needed to finish the bathroom before I could get a bike, which I think is going to work out. I'll post some more pics after this weekend. I hope to put up the wall tile and grout everything this weekend (instead of drink and be merry in Florida). After that, I'll just need to get the plumbers to come do their magic and we'll be finished. Woo hoo!
Okay, that's enough of an update for now. It's boys' night and I'm going to be heading over to my buddy's house in a bit for a night of Papa John's pizza, Halo, and an all-around good time. Peace.
That sucks about Florida! At least you will get the bathroom done. If you want to watch the game, Kevin and Liz are coming over on Saturday to watch it. Tully
I'm sure you friend really appreciates you giving up Florida instead of him ... He sounds like a very skillful chap... but i think you missed you out "convincing Tully to go back to Malaysia with him" skill. Love all you guys ... see you soon .... today is the last day of work before the great trip... D.O.
We here at UGA, struggling to keep activism up in a campus that is mostly dead with progressive activism, will be showing the film "American Blackout" at the Tate Student Center theater November 1st at 7 PM.
The film is about how the GOP, along with corporate allies, has worked to systematically disenfranchise thousands of African American, Latino, and working-class voters.
It won the special jury prize at the Sundance film festival. I met the director this summer at the Atlanta Film Festival, as well as Congresswoman McKinney.
Yes, Congresswoman McKinney. Her story as a Congresswoman is one of the central parts of the film.
I know she's controversial, but in my opinion anyone who cares enough or gives enough of a damn WILL be controversial. And the best part is: her staff's trying to get her here for the showing. So come see this film that is a "muckraking indictment of the systematic disenfranchisement of African American voters" (LA Times) and get pumped for voting progressive at the polls a week later and hopefully changing this country for the better.
My name is Mark Johnson, and I've been an avid reader of your blog A la Gauche for about the last six months. I'm a recent UC Berkeley Political science grad and I along with some fellow Princeton alums have been working hard to launch our own internet startup called www.Rizzleweb.com. Rizzleweb is basically an online political community where people can log on and write performance reviews\comments for congressmen, senators, the president, and various other local and state officials across the country. I was hoping that if it would not be too much trouble you could place a link of our site on your blog. If this is not possible (which we completely understand), we still hope you will check out our site, and post some reviews
A reader sent me an e-mail pointing to a website featuring artwork from a Pat Robertson coloring book. I was intrigued. Here's what it's all about (from Powells.com):
Garrett County Press asked favorite artists to "color in" pages from Kevin Stone's latest project, The Pat Robertson and Friends Coloring Book. The artists, who range from Philadelphia designers to Bangkok street artists, were given simple instructions: pick your favorite page and have fun.
Either the employees of FAUX News are idiots or they are willfully mislabeling politicians on purpose to accomplish some sinister goal. Okay, maybe both.
After mislabeling Foley as a Democrat, the folks over at the "fair and balanced" news channel have mislabeled another politician - Lincoln Chafee.
Maybe they labeled him a Democrat since he's losing so poorly. Maybe they want people to identify him as a Democrat so that they'll be confused on voting day. Who knows what they're up to, but rest assured - they ARE up to something.
They are using psycology to influence the outcome of elections. This is against the law. Proving it is tough, but if it continues then there is grounds for a lawsuit... Bet they'll end up defending this crap in a court of law.
Love the commercial. Unfortunately, he is not running on November 7th. I hope and pray there is some connection in people's minds to the Congress enablers who have been supporting this suidicidal administration with their goose-step support since 9/11. WAKE UP AMERICA !!
yes, but i think the point of the ad is that we need change in congress so that someone can perhaps get some answers from bush. no one is even asking at this point.
A bomb shell was dropped earlier this week when a new study by Johns Hopkins University funded by MIT was published in the prestigious peer-reviewed British Journal The Lancet. The study, performed earlier this year with careful extrapolation surveys in several parts of Iraq, estimates the death toll from the US war and its effects among Iraqis to add at least "2.5 percent of the Iraqi population over what would have occured without the war." That's right, 2.5 percent of the population has been murdered by our attacking of Iraq. To put that into perspective, 1 percent of the US population died in our worst war (the Civil War). The immediate response from President Bush was indicative of how seriously Washington is taking the study. From Amy Goodman's excellent independent news show "Democracy Now"(link):
SUZANNE MALVEAUX: The 30,000, Mr. President? Do you stand by your figure -- 30,000?
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: You know, I stand by the figure. A lot of innocent people have lost their life -- 600,000, or whatever they guessed at, is just -- it's not credible. Thank you.
One of the lead researchers of the study had this to say in response:
JUAN GONZALEZ: Well, I’m sure you have heard by now the responses of President Bush and military leaders about this. What is your response to their saying that this is not credible?
LES ROBERTS: You know, I don't want to sort of stoop to that level and start saying general slurs, but I just want to say that what we did, this cluster survey approach, is the standard way of measuring mortality in very poor countries where the government isn’t very functional or in times of war. And when UNICEF goes out and measures mortality in any developing country, this is what they do. When the U.S. government went at the end of the war in Kosovo or went at the end of the war in Afghanistan and the U.S. government measured the death rate, this is how they did it. And most ironically, the U.S. government has been spending millions of dollars per year, through something called the Smart Initiative, to train NGOs and UN workers to do cluster surveys to measure mortality in times of wars and disasters.
So, I think we used a very standard method. I think our results are couched appropriately in the relative imprecision of [inaudible]. It could conceivably be as few as 400,000 deaths. So we’re upfront about that. We don’t know the exact number. We just know the range, and we’re very, very confident about both the method and the results.
--- My take? One person who died is too many. Either we can go with Bush's pathetic lie at 30,000 or 100,000 or 400,000 or 650,000 or (the study's upper level limit of) 900,000 -- it's too much. And it's criminal.
This is just another example of how Bush, the neo-cons, and the "Christian" Right (and a whole slew of other folks, unfortunately) continually draw conclusions, make decisions, pronounce judgements, and take action based either on absolutely no evidence whatsoever, or even in the face of overwhelming evidence that completely contradicts their positions. It is CRAZY. We all hear what we want to hear, to coin a phrase, and disregard the rest (that sounds like it would make a great song...), but this has become pathological.
I ditto Tim's post above. There is no lie too big for this administration to grab ahold of. There is really no way of knowing the exact number I suppose, but just the fact that dubya says 30K makes me think it's at least 650K. I wish they could all go to sleep for two years until this nightmare is over.
I'm reminded of the time I went to see Dave Chappelle at UGA. He was telling us about a trip he took to Disney World. He was wearing a t-shirt that read "Fuck the Police" and the Disney folks wouldn't let him in. So, he asked them, "Are there cops in there?". And they said, "Yes." "Well, fuck 'em," he replied. Fuck them indeed.
I got a ticket today. Scratch that. I got TWO tickets. One was for speeding (guilty with conditions) and the other was for illegal lane change (total bullshit). Plus the cop accused me of trying to run from him and said he had called for backup. WTF?!?! I was changing lanes b/c I was about to get off the Atlanta Highway to go to Lowes (we need three more water hoses to water all this damned lawn). But then I decided I would go to Target instead. Well, I had to speed up to get around the cars to my right and I did that (with about 3 car lengths behind me). At that point (when there was NO ONE near me), I changed two lanes so that I could stay on Atl Hwy. I don't know where the hell he was hiding, either.
When he pulled me over, he was so belligerent. Here is what I recall being said: read the full post...
Meanface Cop: I clocked you at 68 and I noticed that little stunt you pulled trying to get away. That was an illegal lane change. You pulled from the far right lane to the far left lane (First, I wish more people were moving from the far right to the far left, BUT that is untrue. I moved from the 2nd lane to the 4th lane of a 5 lane road. So, a more accurate description would be that I moved from the moderate right to the moderate left).
Me: I wasn't trying to get away, sir (God, I hate calling them sir.). I was about to get off the Atlanta Highway, but then I realized I needed to stay on. I looked behind me and made sure I could change before I changed lanes and I had my blinker on.
Meanface Cop: What year is this truck?
Me: I don't know. I bought it from my brother-in-law. Maybe a 90?
Meanface Cop: You bought it from your brother-in-law, eh? (Man, he was such a jerk.) Do you have any papers for it?
Me: I have the tag.
Meanface Cop: Oh, that's your tag?
Me: Yes.
Meanface Cop: How long have you had the truck?
Me: I don't know. Maybe since August? (I was really, really nervous. Afterall, the guy had accused me of trying to run from the police!)
* At this point, he left me to go write my TWO tickets.
When he came back, I tried to explain that I hadn't gone from the far right lane to the far left lane and that I wasn't trying to run from him. He didn't seem to care.
So, that was a pretty shitty ending to an otherwise pretty good day. I have TERRIBLE luck with the police. Shit.
But just when I didn't think my day could improve, I went to Laura's MySpace page (not my wife Laura, my girlfriend Laura) and I found this:
And now everything is okay. Giant pigeons are worse than asshole cops.
Lefty, fleeing form the cops. For shame you criminal. Was he wearing the shades of death? (I prefer to look into the visible eyes of my public servants.) His quota must have been met that day.
For anyone who might care, I'm posting some pictures of our current projects. We're still working on the master bathroom and closet (trying to finish that by Thanksgiving) and I also am trying to improve my lawn in the front and backyards.
The first six pictures are of the master closet. The door from the closet to the bedroom is now up. You may remember that the door used to be from the closet to the bathroom. We took that out and now just have a walkway there. Notice the shoe organizers on the side of the closet organizers. And the track lighting. The master closet is now basically done. We have to do a little caulking and painting here and there, but that's all.
These next three pictures are of the master bathroom. The floor tile is down, but it hasn't been grouted yet. I am going to wait until I have the wall tile up and then do all the grouting at the same time. The window is in, but I haven't done the sill or the frame around it. But I have finished all the texturing of the walls and they are ready to paint.
Here are two of the backyard. You may notice that the tree that used to be in the center of the yard is no longer there. Hopefully that will provide enough sunlight to get some nice grass growing.
Here is the deck, for those of you who haven't seen the finished version yet.
At what point will people begin to question the man's sanity? For Chrissake:
President Bush reserved the right to ignore key changes in Congress's overhaul of the Federal Emergency Management Agency -- including a requirement to appoint someone with experience handling disasters as the agency's head -- in setting aside dozens of provisions contained in a major homeland security spending bill this week.
This is why I've lost interest in politics at the moment -- same shit, different day. And I can't do a damn thing about it.
i should have consulted you and zaid before i agreed to that DAMNED bet. sorry. i can barely stand to visit my own blog, but it will only be for a week. shit, i hope this doesn't effect our traffic. ha ha ha ha
and yes, isn't it hard to not become apathetic and complacent in our current political atmosphere? it's like john mayer says, "it's not that we don't care, it's just we know that the fight ain't fair..."
oily marks appear on walls where pleasure moments hung before the take over, the sweeping insensitivity of this still life

Republicans are wishing they had never heard Mark Foley's name. But there's no escaping the shit storm that is FOLEYGATE. I really don't think this is going anywhere anytime soon. Foley is trying to hide behind excuses - first, that he's an alcoholic and second, that he was molested by a clergyman. Only a Republican could make excuses for preying on children while posturing as a child advocate. Wow.
Here are some excerpts from yet another ABC story:
This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.
Maf54: I miss you
Teen: ya me too
Maf54: we are still voting
Maf54: you miss me too
The exchange continues in which Foley and the teen both appear to describe having sexual orgasms.
Maf54: ok..i better go vote..did you know you would have this effect on me
Teen: lol I guessed
Teen: ya go vote...I don't want to keep you from doing our job
Maf54: can I have a good kiss goodnight
Teen: :-*
The House voted that evening on HR 1559, Emergency War Time supplemental appropriations.
This guys is/was a scumbag. But he fits right in with the other scumbags that covered his behind with the 100k donation. This stinks to high heaven, and it's very fitting that it should come to light NOW. It gives them the added distraction to suggest that it was the Dem's fault. Blame it on alcohol, the "unnamed priest" in his past, his homosexual lifestyle, etc, etc. Whatever you do, don't blame it on Foley and his party for covering this thing up for 1-5 years. What a disgrace. Boot these disgusting suckers out of office...pronto!!
What really makes me sick is that his lawyers are using the gay card.
"Mr. Foley wants you to know that he is a homosexual man..."
Screw that. He's a pedophile predator. Gender preference is irrelevant, unless you're really trying to forward an agenda.
But it's not just Republicans. McGreevy's slime, too. Guy cheats on his wife when she's sick, appoints his non-citizen "boy toy" to head of homeland security, and then when forced out of the closet, we're supposed to feel for him as a minority "gay American". And decent, honorable, gay people are supposed to regard him as a hero. Give me a break!
this is gross! I am so embarrassed that he represents (sorry, represented) people in our country. So, disgusting! I generally find someway to find humor in most situations but this is too much even for me.
I hope something of mass proportion is done to him. I hope he is ashamed and mortified. I hope this issue is beaten into the ground so no one will ever be able to forget it. Things like this make me wonder if there is any hope......
Just amazing. Fox's O'Reilly Factor just covered the Mark Foley (R-FL) issue in two different segments, one of them with a page who says he received communications from Foley, and another with Ann Coulter.
Never mind the content of either segment for now. Incredibly during a total of three different cutaways to video footage of Foley, he was labelled at the bottom of the screen eachtime as "(D-FL)" !
Three different times. In two different segements. Each cutaway about 15 seconds or more. Showing Foley as a DEMOCRAT. Amazing.
Just "an honest mistake". I'm trying to think of the last "honest" thing that the propaganda network said or did. NOTHING comes to mind. This was intentional. Whether it's the networks "humor" or stupidity is debatable, but I suspect it's more like the same....intentional misinformation. It serves a purpose. All the geezer no brainers watching their sleeze machine register the bozo as a Democrat, and they go right on with their "repugs do no wrong" myth. Such BS!
It appears that, like many other Republicans, Mark Foley is a real-deal, 100% hypocrit.
Back when President Clinton was having "sexual relations" with adults (an age group Mark Foley is evidently not interested in), Foley described Clinton's indescretions as "vile" and "sad."
"It's vile. It's more sad than anything else, to see someone with such potential throw it all down the drain because of a sexual addiction."
Well, I think most people would agree with Foley there. But what about having sexual conversations over IM and e-mail with high school students? I'd say that's a little careless, too.
Sure, it's a little absurd that THIS is the straw that broke the camel's back in the news media (illegal war and torture and the end of habeus corpus don't do that), but it's bad nonetheless
This ship is taking on water fast, and the rats are jumping off. It's actually amusing now to watch these lying sacks of crap do the mambo around reality.
Couldn't have come at a better time for the elections. These dems better behave themselves and take a lesson from these hypocrites.
You can't blame poor Foley, he lives in a world of leprechauns and sprites where the laws don’t apply to him and he can live life as the ass-hat fucktard (aka pedophile) that he is. Isn’t politics grand? I hope he rots in the pits of fiery hell.
I look back at Clinton's episode, and I have to shake my head. His incident was with a consenting 22 year old. He was impeached for denying it. What a pathetic comparison to Foley and his involvement with SIXTEEN YEAR OLD pages. Is there a comparison? I hardly think so.
Mark Foley's troubles continue to pile up, as new developments involving his involvement with multiple teenagers arise. At first it was just a few e-mails, that while seeming creepy, were something he could have recovered from. But now, with the release of graphic instant message transcripts between Foley and a high school student, things are changing from bad to hellacious.
Foley resigned because he knew these conversations would come out. He should have known better than to have such conversations with a teenager, much less more than one teenager. Is it criminal? Maybe. Should he go to jail? Probably not. But is it unethical, irresponsible, and hypocritical? YES!
Here's a few tidbits from the e-mails:
Maf54: shows your package then
Teen: ya slow things down a little im still young...like under 18 don't want to do anything illegal...im not 18 til feb 23
Maf54: i know..
Maf54: nothing will happen
Maf54: just dreaming
...
Maf54: did any girl give you a hand job this weekend
Teen: lol no
...
Maf54: but it must feel great spirting on the towel
Teen: ya
Maf54: wow
Maf54: is your little guy limp...or growing
...
Maf54: just kinda slow rubbing
Teen: ya....
Teen: or youll rub yourslef raw
Maf54: I have aa totally stiff wood now
You can read both of the instant message conversations at email A and email B
UPDATE: Mark Foley Resigns / Sexual Conversations Via Instant Message With Former Pages Revealed - read about it or read the graphic IMs (WARNING: IMs are graphic)
A Republican Congressman from Florida, Mark Foley, is facing quite a bit of scrutiny over e-mails he wrote to a sixteen year old boy. The boy, a Congressional Page, felt the e-mails were not appropriate and notified authorities in D.C.. Congressman Mark Foley's office insists the e-mails are harmless and that the Congressman is guilty only of being "overly friendly."
Here are excerpts from some of the e-mails Foley sent to the young boy (you can read them all at the online newspaper, RAW STORY):
"did you have fun at your conference…what do you want for your birthday coming up…what stuff do you like to do."
"i just e-mailed will...he's such a nice guy...acts much older than his age...and he's in really good shape"
"how are you weathering the hurricane…are you safe…send me an email pic of you as well…"
You can view Rep. Foley's emails to the young boy at RAW STORY.
The online newspaper RAW STORY also discovered a MySpace profile linked to the Congressman's personal e-mail address. The profile lists the Congressman's age and city of residence and states that he doesn't want kids.
A woman who ran a website featuring sexually explicit stories about children has been indicited by a federal grand jury and now faces up to 30 years in prison.
Mary Beth Buchanan, a United Stated attourney, says the woman's website encourages violence. "Use of the Internet to distribute obscene stories like these not only violates federal law, but also emboldens sex offenders who would target children," she said. When I was in 10th grade at Oconee County High School, religious fundamentalists tried to ban books from our school library. The book-burners claimed that excerpts from the book that included mentions of sex would encourage young male readers to attack and possibly rape young female students. Ridiculous.
The woman who ran this site may be offensive, but should she go to jail for 30 years for writing? I can't imagine that someone who would otherwise not be violent might read her website and then be motivated to violence. If someone is going to hurt a child, there is something wrong with that person. You can't CATCH pedophilia by reading a story.
We're after Iran, alright, but I'm not sure we're going to attack them. It looks like we're more interesting in BECOMING Iran.
We after Iran, but I'm not sure we're going to attack them. It looks like we're more interesting in BECOMING Iran.
Well said, my friend. If this becomes the norm Steven king will have to go into hiding...along with every other author and screenplay writer, blog writer, and - Wait a minute? Is this a conspiracy? I say, "Bring `em on!"
Hey, there's a Congressman in Florida that's really interested in stopping these Internets child-exploiter types. Gimme a sec.... I'll look up his name for you...
Last week after Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez lambasted the United States and the power-oriented United Nations structure, many wondered if Noam Chomsky's book Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance, which he held up during his speech, would start to be picked up again by reading audiences. After all, Chomsky is maybe the most revered foreign policy critic in the world -- but huge sections of America don't even know he exists (him or Zinn or Naomi Klein or others).
Amazon.com has the answer. Chomsky's book went from being somewhere around #116,000 in sales straight to number one within a span of two days. It's good to see that fresh ideas may get a new read among the American people, all thanks to a man named Hugo Chavez.
I guess if so many Americans can be persuaded to read such an obviously "anti-American" thinker, that many Americans must just hate America.
I gain more respect for this man everyday. He was maybe off base by embarrassing our fearless leader last week, but as far as I'm concerned, he called a spade a spade. Raised a lot of eyebrows, but there is a lot of truth in what some took as a joke.
Condi says that Bill Clinton was lying when he said he left the Bush regime information and strategies on how to work to defeat Al Qaeda and how to get Pakistan to help.
"We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al Qaeda."
President Clinton suggested that folks who think his administration didn't do enough to fight terrorism read Richard Clarke's book. Here is a quote from the former terrorism czar, that I think pretty much sums up how UN-truthful Condi and the rest of the Bush regime really is:
"There's a lot of debate about whether it's a plan or a strategy or a series of options, but all of the things we recommended back in January were done after September 11th."
The United States edition of the October 2, 2006 issue of Newsweek features a radically different cover story from its International counterparts, RAW STORY has learned.
The cover of International editions, aimed at Europe, Asia, and Latin America, displays in large letters the title "LOSING AFGHANISTAN," along with an arresting photograph of an armed jihadi.
The cover of the United States edition, in contrast, is dedicated to celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz and is demurely captioned "My Life in Pictures."
In another flip-flop, the Bush administration has had to reverse tracks on a story involving the detainment of the Venezuelan Foreign Minister last week. Nicolas Madura was strip searched and threatened by security officials.
At first the U.S. government denied the event even took place. This is a quote from Homeland Security Department spokesman Russ Knocke:
"There's no evidence to support any of this. There's no evidence to support the claim that his travel documents were taken away, there's no evidence to support the claim that he was assaulted and there's no evidence to support the claim that he was somehow arrested or taken into custody."
But it wasn't long before someone informed the Department of Homeland Security that it was expected to tell the truth, not just make stuff up whenever it felt the inclination. So, the State Department later issued this statement:
"The state department can confirm there was an incident with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro at JFK airport in New York. The state department regrets this incident. The United States government apologised to Foreign Minister Maduro and the Venezuelan government."
I guess that explains where they got that "flip-flop" obsession. They just took their own dirty tricks and shoved them onto the Democrats.
