Activision & Valve Team Up
12:20 | by Chief-Phillips
While it's generally not our place to post news about Steam and non-Source related games, it's hard to ignore the fact that Steam is growing far beyond a platform for Valve and independently produced games. In a new partnership with Activision, Steam (sometime this month) will be playing distribution host to four Activision titles, which includes:
Call of Duty
Call of Duty: United Offensive
Call of Duty 2
GUN
Apart from these large-title additions, there has also been many recently added titles to the platform, ranging from city-building/management simulators to hyper-realistic rally racing games.
Call of Duty, United Offensive, and GUN will be priced at $19.95, while Call of Duty 2 will be priced at $39.95. This once highly controversial platform is quickly becoming a major marketing and distribution tool for Valve games, independent games, and now for industry giants as well.
Be sure to head on over to the Steam Games List for a current listing of all games (and demos) available. The above-mentioned Activision titles should be available sometime within the month of October.
'Looking Back' Interview With Marc Laidlaw and David Speyrer
12:20 | by Chief-Phillips Computer & Videogames.com took a trip down memory lane with Valve's own Marc Laidlaw and David Speyrer, and talked about some of their experiences with the development process of Half-Life 2: Episode 1.
Laidlaw: So developers might come up with an idea like 'Let's pick up the van and throw the van across!' You respond by saying: 'Well, I don't have anything better than that. I can't top it!' Then it turns into a secret thing: 'We're going to try and get this in, because if I tried to describe it to you, you'd say it was absolutely insane.' Then they'll go off and quietly build the pieces for it.

Medal of Honor: Heroes Giveaway!
13:48 | by Matthew Pruitt
That's right, we're giving away free copies of Medal of Honor: Heroes for the PSP. However, you're gonna' have to work to get a copy for yourself. Here's how it works:
A few days ago, we took the Medal of Honor Heroes Jeep and drove all over the LA area. We parked it in front of some famous places and took some photos. I'm going to post these photos, but not all at once. I'll post a portion of a photo, and every day or two, I'll add more to the photo. The first person to respond to the thread with the correct location of the Medal of Honor Jeep will win a free copy of Medal of Honor Heroes for the PSP. I'll start with easy ones, and move to ones that won't be so obvious. If there are questions about a correct answer, my decision is final.
Where do you enter you ask? Well, the contest is being run through the PMOH forums. So, if you're not already signed up, make sure you do so and win yourself a free copy of Heroes!

Strike Force Red Cell Interview
10:02 | by Virax
VG Core has released an interview with Strike Force developers Vision Studios, regarding their first commercial product: Strike Force Red Cell. Now running on the Reality engine - which was, coincidentally, bought out by Epic Games - Strike Force is still looking beautiful.
Inside they discuss how the mod became a game, why it's coming to XBOX360 as well as PC, and much more. Here's a snip:
VG Core: It seems most hardcore console gamers seem to stick to a niche with gaming. Do you think SFRC will mix into the hardcore crowd, or is it one of those games that is aimed to spread through the market by targeting hardcore and casual, console and PC gamers?
Mike Hamlett: Strike Force has always had a solid fan base and we aim to target the hardcore and casual gamer from both console and PC. We want to make the gaming experience so addictive that you wake up in the morning wanting more. =)
