CS: Source Economy Changes Coming��

This week�s Steam news update provides a small tidbit for CS: Source players. It reminds us of the upcoming changes to the weapons and equipment economy. There aren�t any specific details, but from the sounds of things the changes may be very significant. It will be particularly interesting how this changes the use of some weapons, such as the machine gun which has a reputation of being far too expensive for its usefulness. Here�s the news post:
The changes coming to the Counter-Strike: Source weapon and equipment economy are still underway, but we're not quite ready to announce exactly what we have planned. The scope of the change involves changing the prices of every item in the game�some more significantly than others. But that's just the beginning. We'll have more info on what's in store, soon.

That's right folks, the good folks over at Eternal Silence are inching very close to a release, although due to some computer troubles with their programmer, have to push back a week. Regardless, this high-flying action-packed modification will be available for eagerly awaiting fans shortly.

The conclusion of the five-part trailer release for Valve's Episode 2 is complete today with the latest video. Video #5 takes a good look at the expansive outdoor levels, some new creatures you'll encounter, as well as some new weapons you'll get to rein your terror with. Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal are still targeted for Q1 of 2007, and it's just around the bend!

The folks over at the episodic modification NightFall have released a very large media update that contains thirty new map shots, model renders, in-game action, desktop wallpapers, and propaganda posters. Along with the media are explanations and development updates pertaining to each set of shots to help explain just what is going on.

Computer & Video Games is once again providing some commentary by Mark Rein. This time Mark discusses Windows Vista, which according to him has both improvements and degradations for gaming. Here�s some of the words:
"I'm bitterly disappointed that they're shipping a 32-bit version of Vista - I think that's very short-sighted, I really don't see the point of it," Rein told us. "I think they [Microsoft] kind of capitulated to Intel... I think Intel put the squeeze on Microsoft and said 'We're still going to do some 32-bit chips, you've got to do a 32-bit version'."
