Lionsgate and Marshall Support New 'DESCENT' Ending

Fangoria.com reports that with the rumors that have been flying around the web that Lionsgate has trimmed "The Decents" final haunting minutes for Stateside audiencesand theyre not wrong - for the first time, Lionsgate president of production Peter Block talks exclusively to Fango about the decision-making process behind the new ending, which had the wholehearted blessing and involvement of Neil Marshall himself.

When Neil wrote the script for "The Descent," even he wasnt sure where he wanted to end the movie, because there are two very emotional beats [that close the film], says Block. He [originally] ended it in a way that gives it an intellectual and downbeat approach, but he always wondered how it would play with an ending that had a different impact.

These Details and Pics May Cause An 'INFECTION'

Fangoria.com reports that veteran genremeister Albert Pyun sent along some info and photos (see below) from his new feature "Infection," which he directed from a script by Cynthia Curnan and which won Best Film and Best Direction awards at last years Semana Internacional de Cine Fantstico y de Terror in Estepona, Spain.

"Its the best film Ive ever done! Pyun tells Fango. Its a sci-fi/horror/thriller about the spread of an alien infection, captured in a single, unedited 72-minute shot.

'NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D' Postponed - Again

Fangoria.com reports that the regional release date for "Night of the Living Dead 3D" has been postponed once again.

Director Jeff Broadstreet gave Fango the skinny on the delay: We are not releasing the film on March 17, due to a couple of issues, he tells Fango. The CG visual effects have taken longer than expected to finish, and we also had a technical problem on the 3-D postproduction end of things that cost us a couple of weeks. So we are now looking at a fall releaseprobably mid-September, but I dont have an exact date yet.
