Paris Hilton Wins Worst Supporting Actress Razzie
With all of the Oscar talk that will surely be the topic of conversation around the water-coolers of the world today, let us not forget about those other beloved awards: The Razzies. The 26th Annual Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Awards were held and, I know, you're all dying to know who took home the top prize, er... ok fine we'll call it the top prize. Was it "Alone in the Dark"? Nope. Then it must've been "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo," right? Wrong again. Well then it's surely got to be "House of Wax"? Three strikes... you're out! It was the Jenny McCarthy flick "Dirty Love," which won a total of 4 awards.
But fear not, Horror fans. You can rejoice! Paris Hilton won the distinct honor of being this years Worst Supporting Actress for her work on "House of Wax." All together now: HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY!

The 2006 Oscars: No Horror To Report, But That's OK
Well horror fans, I can't say that this years Oscars were exactly horror related, but I can say that they were actually - for a change - enjoyable. "King Kong" was really the closest thing to a horror film that we had and it did take home 3 Oscars for technical achievements in sound and visual FX. (Is anyone shocked?)Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride" lost to "Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit," which was expected and fine by me because I have been a HUGE Wallace and Gromit fan for a long time.
However, the biggest surprise came at the end of the show when it came time for Best Picture of the Year. "Crash" won and, to be honest, I still don't get how a film can win Best Director and not win Best Picture (which is what happened to "Brokeback Mountain"). But, anyway...
