Unlike other knowledge base software, there is no built in limitations or restrictions for any of the features within InstantKB.NET. Licensing is based on the number of installations. You can have as much data as your database server can handle.
- Comprehensive Administration
Administrators can manage questions, articles, categories, users, roles & much more. Create plain-text or HTML articles based on questions asked within the knowledge base. The ability to create and use article templates ensures articles within your knowledge base can follow a consistent corporate style through-out.
- Powerful Full-Text Search
InstantKB.NET provides support for full-text searches. The SQL Server full-text indexing service when enabled provides advanced word or
phrase searching including proximity searches, inflectional matches (drive = drove) and relevance ranking of results (how close the words are and quantity of matches). InstantKB.NET supports both ContainsTable and FreeTextTable full-text searches.
- Role Based Security
Control which knowledge base categories are visible to users based on the roles associated with the current user. Only categories that are associated with any of the users roles will be accessible and available via search within the knowledge base. Categories not associated with the users roles will not be visible or accessible.
- Ask a Question!
Visitors can submit questions directly into the knowledge base. Administrators receive email notifications of new questions and have to the oppoertunity to create knowledge base articles via the admin area in response to submitted questions. If an article is published in response to a question, the user who asked the question will be notified via email with a link to the article. This is a great way to reduce common questions.
