May 15, 2002 - Due for release late this year, the Mythic/Abandon co-developed Shrouded Isles promises to expand the very popular MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot with new graphics, three new races, and new areas to explore.

Perhaps the most noticeable change will be the new NetImmerse 3D engine version 4.0 employed to deliver the title's aesthetics. Version 4.0 will include character shading, Direct X 8.1 specific features, more spectacular spells and animations, reflections, and other stuff.

Mark Jacobs, President of Mythic Entertainment:

    "With the tremendous success of the original game, it made sense for us to start development on Shrouded Isles immediately. Shrouded Isles will add to the experience that has excited and intrigued players to date while updating the visual experience to draw them further into the worlds of Hibernia, Albion and Midgard."

The expansion comes as no surprise. One has been known to be considered for the possibility of perhaps being maybe developed for sometime now, and Dark Age's 200,000 plus paying subscribers and Asian breakout virtually assure it will be a success.

Expect more at next year's big exposition.
