'Futurama' Switching Networks

hollywoodreporter.com is reporting that "Futurama" will have a new cable home starting in January 2008. Comedy Central said Thursday that it has signed a multiyear deal with Twentieth Television to acquire all 72 episodes of the animated comedy series.

'The Man Who Fell to Earth' Remake In The Works

rottentomatoes.com is reporting that Warner Independent Pictures is planning to mount a remake of Nicolas Roeg's 1977 cult classic "The Man Who Fell to Earth," itself an adaptation of the Walter Tevis novel from 1963. Screenwriter Oren Moverman has earned the remake writing gig.

The story is about an alien who comes to Earth disguised as a businessman to procure water for his parched planet. Along the way, he becomes the head of a powerful international conglomerate and discovers just how greedy mankind is, falling into a metaphysical crisis.

Roger Lloyd-Pack in 'Dr.Who'

bbc.co.uk is reporting that Only Fools and Horses star Roger Lloyd-Pack will play a villain in the new series of Doctor Who.

'Death Ship' Sets Sail

IGN FilmForce is reporting that Summit Entertainment and Mandalay Pictures are hooking up to adapt Richard Matheson's Death Ship into a feature film. The 1953 short story, first published in Fantastic Story Magazine, tells what happens when the crew of a three-man spacecraft lands on a planet only to discover the wreckage of a spacecraft identical to their own. Two of the crew members are convinced that they're dead, but the captain refuses to believe it.

Darren Aronofsky Will Direct 'Lost'
