October 27, 2005 - Lots of stuff this week, so let's get right to it!
NTV in Japan has announced they will air a live action version of the anime classic, The Grave of the Fireflies, on November 1st. According to the Anime News Network, the film is based on the same partially auto-biographical book that spawned Isao Takahata's classic anime movie and will be told from the point of view of Seita and Setsuko's aunt. CPM Launches Video I-Pod Downloads:
Central Park Media has launched some video downloads for users of the
new video I-Pod, including the complete first episode of Descendents of
Darkness. Video I-Pod users can access that and other CPM downloads
here.
NTV to Stream Anime Online:
Nippon TV (NTV) has announced that they will start a service called NTV2
that will stream 38,000 hours of material from the NTV catalog online. NTV
produces a number of anime series as well as dramas, news and other television.
The service will launch on October 27th and all indications so far are that all
of the material will only be available in Japanese with no translations

Turner Classics to Air Miyazaki Movies:
The cable channel Turner Classic Movies will be airing 9 classic Studio
Ghibli movies starting on Thursdays in January, 2006. The films include
Nausicaa, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Porco Rosso, My
Neighbor Totoro and others. Full details are in TCM's
