Starting in 1996, Alexa Internet has been donating their crawl data to the Internet Archive. Flowing in every day, these data are added to the Wayback Machine after an embargo period.
A sequel to the AvP movie is in the works - so says Fox itself
in an interview. What does this mean for AvP? Bigger and better
things. Keep your eyes peeled for big announcements soon.
New Map
of the Week up, thanks to Mr. Windebieste. He's reviewed
Crystal
Crash, a map based on "objective-based Team Deathmatch
where players must do more than just run around in circles and
shoot each other." Which sounds good to me.
Excerpt: "Gameplay is a little bit like 'Capture the Flag' games where Players must infiltrate the enemy base and get to a particular location. The difference here is that there is no flag to speak of and the Objective is relatively simple. Destroy the Crystal and score a point for your team."
That sounds good to me, too. Read the full
review.
KingKenny's AvP 2 Skins has released more screenshots of their
upcoming Star Wars mod. Most of it's a look at the map
Bespin
(CTRL-F "Bespin), but there's also a screenshot of the
new Bacta
Tank pickup.
The mod's supposed to be finished, but still no word on when
it's coming out. Until then, check
out the screenies.
The second
chapter to World War II: The Hunt is On is up in the Literature
section. It's a nice story by Erik Brolaski, so check
it out if you like Frenchmen, Nazis, and Predators.
Excerpt: "The
German officer was crazy eyed and grinning as he pointed the
gun to Daniels temple. 'May you be cursed to Hell.' the German
soldier said. Right as the German officer was getting ready
to squeeze off a round into Daniels head, he was distracted
by a series of bright red dots. The officer looked up at were
the dots were coming from, and he laid eyes on the same terrifying
ghost that had ruined his tank."
Twisted Kaiju Theater,
meet Alien
Loves Predator. I'm reporting this a bit late; the guy who
runs Twisted Kaiju (think Godzilla) is releasing crossover comics
with ALP. It's finished just recently and you can see all issues
here.
They're pretty funny and you'll get more than a laugh or two
reading
it. Thanks to Xenomoose for the news.
Another Aliens chess set, sequel to the original,
is up and coming from SOTA Toys, says Figures.com. It's called
the Aliens
Deluxe Chess Set and it has the USCMC going up against the
Alien horde. It even has two versions.
"Two versions are scheduled for arrival February 2006:
one with painted pewter pieces (limited to 3000 sets) and an
even more limited (500 sets) version featuring polished pewter
pieces," the article says.
It'll cost almost four hundred dollars... is it worth it? Read
the full
story.
It's Monday, so it's time for a Planet
AvP in Review, courtesy of SiL. Read his review of the week's
community events and other... things. You'll
have fun.
