October 05, 2005 - Need a Flash memory device but don't want it look as lame as everybody else's? Look no further than mimoco, who have come up with a unique solution to compact flash memory drives.

Called mimobots, these USB-friendly devices are both collectible toys and useful storage, designed by renowned urban artist Yahid 'Serial Killer' Rodriguez. The first set are Cosmos Series mimobots - protobot0, protobot1, isadore, and fairybit.


Compatible with Windows and Mac, the devices come in 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB sizes. Their numbers are limited, however. Each set is produced in limited sets, usually of 250 or 500 (the one we got to try out was listed as 20/150). Each of these guys is loaded up with extra stuff. The Cosmos Bots contain images and a drum n' bass mix by DJ DB. The mix is called "disturbulence," and it's exclusive to these USB drives.
