May 13, 2005 - Based on a best-selling dark fantasy literary property created by author Andrzej Sapkowski, Polish-based studio CD Projekt's The Witcher will cast the player as a member of the titular profession, which consists of warriors who have been selected as youths, then especially reared and trained to hunt and kill such varied, dangerous monsters as the bloated Drowned Dead, the massive Boneheads and the ghoul-like Graveirs. Although, as you might expect, the gameplay is slated to have a considerable combat component, the team has made it clear that its intention is to add a compelling story with unexpected twists and turns.
