Opening in the second spot, MGM's Beauty Shop, the Barbershop
spin-off flick featuring Queen Latifah, brought in around $13.5 million.
In third, last week's top flick Guess Who, starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher, made right around $13 million. Robots, 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Animation's latest CG comedy, picked up another $10 million and ended the weekend in fourth place. Sandra Bullock's Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous was fifth with approximately $8.4 million. The Pacifier, Vin Diesel's attempt at family comedy, dropped one spot to sixth with $6.1 million. DreamWorks' The Ring Two, the horror sequel with Naomi Watts, fell four notches to seventh with an estimated $5.8 million. The Upside of Anger, starring Kevin Costner and Joan Allen, rose to eighth this weekend with $4.1 million. It's playing in 1,111 theaters. Hitch, with Will Smith and Eva Mendes, earned $3 million this weekend. The romantic comedy has grossed $171.4 million in eight weeks. Rounding out the top ten, Disney's Ice Princess, starring Buffy's Michelle Trachtenberg, made another $2.6 million this weekend.
