October 16, 2003 - Nintendo's curious announcement today revealed that the company has recruited the help of comedienne Kathy Griffin to find the funniest knock-knock joke. Yep, that's right.

The upcoming Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga title for the Game Boy Advance has a heavy focus on humor, and Nintendo's using this hook to get gamers to send in their best knock-knock joke. A winner, selected by Ms. Griffin herself, will walk away with a Game Boy Advance SP and a copy of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Sorry, there will be no sitcom contracts given away during this contest.

"I know Nintendo will receive thousands of entries, so I hope Mario and Luigi will help me sort through these," Griffin said, before breaking into tears of laughter thinking of her following clever quip. "I'll be a tough knock-knock judge so make entries original, because I won't hesitate to throw those who write bad jokes into knock-knock jail."

The contest runs now through Nov. 16; contestants can submit jokes online at www.gameboy.com/marioandluigi.
