A playable demo for Country Justice: Revenge of the Rednecks has been released, allowing you to try out the recent budget-priced first-person shooter by Silverfish Studios / 3 Romans and ValuSoft. This is a trial version that can be played for a generous 60 minutes, but also includes all content of the full game that you can activate after purchasing a license key online.

The first update for Star Wars Republic Commando is now online, keeping the recent sci-fi first-person shooter by LucasArts at version 1.0. This release is less a patch and more an add-on, as it adds one new multiplayer map titled Hangar, suitable for up to 16 players in all multiplayer modes. Word is, "this level features multiple pathways throughout the level, including an area of Zero Gravity outside the ship."

The LFS Team has released the first S2 demo of Live For Speed, accelerating their modern racing simulation to version 0.5K. This is an alpha release so your mileage may vary, and it contains a training area, the familiar Blackwood track, and three cars. A corresponding dedicated demo server is also available.

Ubi Soft sends along new patches for Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, upgrading the English and European retail and downloadable (digital distribution) editions of the World War II tactical shooter by Gearbox Software to version 1.03. This release adds new and improved multiplayer lobby features, a screenshots capture function, stability and performance enhancements, and other changes.

There is a new movie trailer for Sacred: Underworld to reveal more of the semi-3D fantasy role-playing expansion pack by Ascaron that has already been released in Germany. This high-resolution trailer re-iterates the add-on's premise and new features in a minute of cinematic and gameplay footage.

Ubi Soft has also issued new patches for Silent Hunter III, updating the US and European retail and downloadable (digital distribution) editions of their new submarine simulation sequel to version 1.2. This upgrade improves ship collision and damage models, campaign data, multiplayer, the game interface, the weather system and more, but it's not multiplayer compatible with older versions.

The latest Empire Earth II movie trailer has been released to show off the imminent epoch-spanning 3D real-time strategy sequel by Mad Doc Software yet again. This movie runs for two and a half minutes in the usual two resolutions to offer part two of an interview with lead artist Peter Calabria interlaced with more gameplay footage.

A new movie trailer for Boiling Point: Road to Hell is now online, showing more of the first-person role-playing action game in the works at Deep Shadows and Atari. This two-minute trailer reveals more of the game's backstory by way of some cutscene excerpts and also sports plenty of action-packed gameplay footage.

CDV has issued a tiny patch for Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars, updating the new German edition of the historical isometric RTS sequel with 3D terrain by GSC Game World. This update addresses several installation issues and comes complete with instructions so that you'll be able to start the game from CD-ROM 2.

Another upgrade for S�LDNER - Secret Wars is now online to accelerate the vehicular 3D action game (and its Marine Corps add-on) by Wings Simulations to version 33628. This release addresses some rare client crashes, a possible med kit exploit, various gameplay issues, a sizable number of vehicle and weapon balance tweaks, and other changes. As usual it's accompanied by the corresponding standalone Win32 server.

A bit earlier than planned, the updated playable demo for Empire Earth II has been released to add multiplayer support to this sample of the imminent 3D RTS sequel by Mad Doc Software. This release adds the King of the Hill skirmish mode to the Three Crowns map of the previous single-player demo, and now also features multiplayer on the Jungle Kings level with the same three civilizations (Americans, Germans, or Koreans), epochs (Renaissance, Imperial, and Enlightenment), and modes (Conquest, King of the Hill and Territory Control) as before.
