August 30, 2004—Last week, we provided you with details on Konami's sales plan for the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid 3. As mentioned in last week's article, in addition to a pricey limited edition version of the game, Konami will be making potentially every version of MGS3 special via a limited edition CD that's being given away to those who preorder. Today, we got our hands on the CD's track list.
- #1: Snake Eater (abstracted camouflage), vocals by Cynthia Harrell
- #2: Infiltration Into the Jungle
- #3: Escape
- #4: Chivalry
- #5: The Treading Behemoth
- #6: Snake Eater (Japanese version), vocals by W.A
As mentioned last week, the CD will contain some bonuses on top of the music. By placing the disk into your computer, you'll be able to access screensavers. The disk will also work with the main game to give you original camouflage. In addition, the package of the disk will contain bar codes which can be read by a cell phone to take Japanese cell phone owners to a special site featuring free music and image downloads.
As of 8/24, retailers began taking preorders for Metal Gear Solid 3. We were, of course, the first in line and will be back some time in the near future (we're still not sure when) with impressions from the disk (probably at our regular Japanese Swag feature).
