April 04, 2005 - A couple new movies hit theaters this weekend... there's Sahara, based on Clive Cussler's best-selling series of adventure novels opening alongside Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore's Fever Pitch. We'll be covering those flicks on IGN FilmForce this week as well as the limited release film Kung Fu Hustle.

The Scoop:  Sahara, based on Clive Cussler's best-selling novel series, stars Matthew McConaughey as adventurer Dirk Pitt. Pitt, a master explorer, takes on the adventure of his life when he embarks on a treasure hunt through some of the most dangerous regions of North Africa. Searching for what locals call "The Ship of Death", a long lost Civil War battleship filled with coins, Pitt and his wisecracking sidekick (Steve Zahn) use their wits and clever heroics to help Doctor Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz) who believes the ship may be linked to mysterious deaths in the same area.

The Scoop: Jimmy Fallon stars opposite Drew Barrymore in this contemporary romantic comedy about a high school teacher who meets and falls in love with a successful businesswoman. Although their lives are vastly different, the relationship seems perfect until baseball season begins, and she has to compete with his first true love: the Boston Red Sox.

Kung Fu Hustle

The Scoop: Kung Fu Hustle is set in 1930s Shanghai. It tells the story of a hapless wannabe gangster, Sing, who must overcome his inability to wield a knife and demonstrate his mettle in order to become a member of the notorious Axe Gang. The Axe Gang, meanwhile, want to reign supreme by occupying the most coveted territory, which is a sacred street protected by an unlikely cast of characters, many of whom are highly skilled kung fu masters disguised as ordinary people. After several encounters with thugs and a fearsome adversary known as the Beast, Sing overcomes his inadequacy and realizes he is the greatest kung fu master of them all, destined to protect the sacred street.
