November 7, 2000 - One of the best puzzle games to find its way to the N64 just happens to be based on Pok�mon. Its name: Pok�mon Puzzle League. Well, naturally Nintendo would go all out in promoting it. As we reported earlier, Nintendo has created Pok�monPuzzleLeague.com and it has everything from training sessions to interactive material. One of the interactive parts of the site consists of creating a custom puzzle and sending it to you friend via email.
How do I create my own custom puzzle?
- Go to www.PokemonPuzzleLeague.com.
- Click on "Enter the Puzzle University."
- On the sidebar you will see "Custom Puzzle." Click on it.
- READ and FOLLOW the instructions closely.
- Create your puzzle and be sure it can be solved in the number of moves you specify!
- Enter your name, email, and message.
- Enter the name and email of the friend you want to send it to.
- Press "Send it."
How do I enter and solve the custom puzzle on my N64?
- You receive an email from your friend with a link to a picture of the custom puzzle he/she made.
- Click on the link.
- Turn on your N64 with the Pok�mon Puzzle League cartridge inserted.
- Enter "Puzzle University" (top left).
- Choose "Custom Puzzle."
- Choose or enter your name.
- Select "edit."
- Select "create."
- Choose an open slot.
- Select any background of your choice.
- Create your custom puzzle. R/L select the block icon and the A-button places the block.
- After you've created your puzzle press "start."
- Select the number of moves your friend entered in "Solve in ____ moves."
- This will take you back to the custom puzzle select screen. Choose "play".
- Select the puzzle you just created. You can store up to 15 on the game pak.
- Enjoy.
So, to help put those words into action, IGN will further provide you with screenshots and videos. Here you'll see IGN64's Fran Mirabella III has created a custom puzzle and sent it to you, the IGN64 reader. If you click on the picture it will take you to the actual Puzzle League website where the puzzle was created. This is exactly the type of link you'll receive in your email.
Now after you click on the link you enter it into Pok�mon Puzzle League, as instructed above. Click on the movie below to see the exact process.
Now if you're a true Pok�mon Puzzle Master you'll head right to your N64 and try to solve these puzzles. With that said, if you are a master these will be relatively easy, but we urge you to try nonetheless. Below is the solution to the first puzzle if you get stuck.
