March 25, 2005 - IGN has always been on top of things; that's why we periodically gather a list of the nastiest game-stopping glitches and offer recommendations on how to avoid them. While not everyone is destined to experience the same "bugs", we know how frustrating they can be for the gamers who do face them. Here're some recently reported glitches/bugs to look out for:
Cold Fear
Platform: PS2, Xbox
Bug/Glitch: Hi, ive been having some trouble getting to the scientific dorms to aquire the laptop. I've done as it hints by going through the main drilling platform to the elevator but it seems to still be jammed. It seems slightly odd that the "interact" icon flashes up on the elavator but nothing actually happens.
Fix/Solution: None provided; possible bug on the pirated version of the product.

ESPN College Basketball
Platform: unspecified
Bug/Glitch: I think this was brought up, but my ESPN College Basketball is freezing during the recruit periods. On the seventh day while it goes through recruiting it just freezes. Every other mode works but this.
Fix/Solution: None provided.

NASCAR Chase For The Cup 2005
Platform: PS2
Bug/Glitch: I've ran into this bug 3 times in a row. While playing through my Chase for the Cup season, the last Busch race of my season is at Homestead, and after winning the race, and the championship, the game freezes. I even checked for smudges or scratches, my disc is in perfect condition. This is very annoying because I can't go any further in my career now. What's up with this?
Fix/Solution: None provided. Possible source is PS2 laser assembly wear and tear. Recommend contacting Sony Customer Support for repair assistance or runing diagnostics on PS2 via system browser.
