March 09, 2005 - We're gonna go out on a limb here, but we think you guys like videogames. We're pretty sure we can stand behind that statement, especially as this is a videogame website and all. But if you clicked on this story here, we're also gonna guess that you like cars (as you are reading IGN's Cars channel right now) We'll now make a third blanket statement about all of you out there in internet land and proclaim that you all like winning stuff.

Don't get all excited and think that the IGN Cars staff is gonna hook you up with stuff -- we're much too cheap for that. Our friends at Scion, however, have found a way to combine games, cars and getting stuff for free.

Starting March 19, the National VGL Console Video Gaming Tournament Tour (or NVGLCVGTT) will kick off at Scion dealerships in 37 different cities throughout the U.S.

Those gamers with lighting fast reflexes, skill, or supreme luck (i.e. those that win these local tournaments), will get to advance to one of the regional tournaments held in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Orlando, and San Francisco.

The uber-gamers that get lucky at one of these regional events will move on to the nationals - one held Orlando and one in Dallas. We don't know why Scion chose those cities over someplace cooler (like New York or L.A.), but whatever... We guess the competitors have to go through some hardships sometime. Sending them to L.A. or New York would have been a prize in and of itself.

Oops... got off on a bit of a rant there... we apologize. Anyway, the winner of each national tournament will walk away with a brand-new xB and some cash.
