If you landed here accidentally, click here. Update 03/22/2005 04:33 PM MST: Because so many of you have requested a way to donate to Dax online, we have created a PayPal account which will route these donations into his fund at Zions Bank. Please click the button at the top of this page to donate, and thank-you. Mama Spice, Sweet Dick Willy and Flounder send their regards. Update 03/22/2005 12:55 PM MST: Hello to all and welcome back to our site. This is a photo of Billy and Dax that we are particularly fond of. We also know that this is one of Billy's favorite photos of himself. Please click on the thumbnail to see a full size copy. This is our family web site on which we post photos and news for the benefit of family that live all over the country. Our little corner of the web averages about 25-30 hits a day, but Billy has changed all of that. He used to kid with us and tell us that he'd link to our site from his gaming site and drive some traffic our way. In the last few days, although the reason is a sad one, he has done just that. Our site has received over 20,000 unique hits since the news of Billy's passing was posted on the online gaming sites and on this site. This is an amazing testament to the positive effect Billy has had on so many people's lives all over the world. We have also received hundreds of emails expressing sorrow at his loss and offering loving words of condolence. We can't thank you enough for the support you have given us during this difficult time and we take great comfort in knowing that so many people loved and respected Billy for who he was, and what he stood for. Billy's funeral service was especially touching and many people came forth to offer amusing and heart-warming stories about Billy and his adventures. The service was beautiful and was conducted by Billy's Buddhist teacher Lama Thupten and his wife Jean. Many people have since commented that they took something away from that service, a feeling of peace and love that warmed their hearts. Billy was buried in his Buddhist robes and many people from the Buddhist community attended the service and chanted and prayed that Billy's new journey would be a good one. More chants and prayers were said at the graveside and helped us to have a peaceful feeling and a sense of closure. Thanks to all who attended, either physically or in spirit. Billy's Mom, son Dax and Aimee are doing OK, about as well as can be expected. Many of you have asked if there is a way to make donations to Dax's college fund online. We have spoken with Aimee and decided to set up a PayPal account on this site through which all donations received will be routed to Billy's donation fund for Dax (set up at Zions Bank here in Salt Lake City). Check back soon and we will post information about how to donate to this account. Every nickel received will benefit Dax directly and we thank-you for the opportunity to help with Dax's future. Over the coming days and weeks, we will post more photos of Billy and keep you up-to-date regarding Dax and the family. Thanks again and may God bless each and every one of you.
Update 03/16/2005 05:43 PM MST: Greetings to all. Let us start by sending our sincere thanks to all of you who have taken the time to send your prayers and condolences to us either via email or through your posts on the many gaming news sites (and others). Your kind thoughts and the outpouring of love from all of you has helped us tremendously through these difficult days. Billy's Mom thought it important to let you know that Billy's organs were donated to help others and in fact, his kidneys have already gone to California to help save two different people's lives. Although he has left us, a part of him will live on and hopefully improve the quality of life for others. We know that this would make Billy very happy, for he spent a great deal of his time trying to make life a little easier for those he loved, and even for complete strangers. This is who he was, and we are very proud of him. Many of you have asked for details surrounding his death, and there is a lot of speculation floating around out there. Allow us to set the record straight. The failure of Billy's liver was sudden. He did not have a history of liver problems, however his liver was certainly weakened by years of living "in the fast lane". What ultimately caused his liver to fail was his ingestion of acetaminophen (Tylenol). Because his liver was already quite weak, the acetaminophen caused it to shut down. Because his liver stopped functioning, toxins built up in his system causing fluid to build up in his brain, which in turn caused his brain to swell. The swelling eventually put him into a coma and his brain suffered severe damage. Once we had determined that there was no brain function, the support was withdrawn and he passed away. Billy did not commit suicide and, ironically, his past behavior had nothing to do with his untimely death (other than perhaps the weakened state of his liver). Many of you have asked about how you can help Billy's son Dax so we have established a trust fund in Billy's memory to which donations can be made to help with Dax's college education. Donations can be sent to Zions Bank, c/o The Billy G. Wilson Donation Fund For Dax, 845 East 4500 South, Murray, UT 84107. Billy's whole world revolved around Dax and we thank you on Billy's behalf for helping secure a bright future for his son. Billy's funeral will be held Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 PM at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, UT 84107. His obituary will run tomorrow, March 17 in the Salt Lake Tribune. We will post his obituary on this site first thing tomorrow. Once again, our heartfelt thanks to all of you for your loving comments and support. Soar with the eagles Billy! You will live in our hearts forever.
We are setting up a page of family photos of Billy. We will post them as
soon as possible so please check back. I God Bless all of you and thank you for your prayers and condolences. You can never know how much we truly appreciate all of you. To those of you that are Billy's Veggie friends, I had the hospital cafeteria grind up their mystery meat and put it in Billy's I.V. My baby finally had a full stomach...every Mother needs to know her baby has had a hearty meal, even if it is mystery meat, probably what did him in... My love to you all Peggy Novasio Mother of the wicked one P.S. As soon as my heart heals a bit I will write Billy's life story as I feel it might help others. You can contact us here.
Update 02/19/2005 01:46 PM MST: Welcome back! We've updated the look of the site for the new year and moved all posts from 2004 to the 2004 Archives page. That should speed up the loading of this page for you folks on dial-up. As I type this, I'm looking out our bedroom window watching the sun peek in and out from behind the clouds. The color of the light and the smell of the air hint at good things to come. Spring fever is biting hard this year! My brother Steve is threatening to get me out on the golf course and I can't wait! I haven't hit a golf ball in a long time and I'm definitely ready. Peg and I were just talking about all the wonderful things that you see, hear and even smell in the Spring and Summer that seem to disappear in the Winter. Sitting on the deck, looking at the deep green lawn with that fresh-cut smell. The sound of kids shouting as they play. Lawn mowers running in the distance. The birds returning to sing their songs. The crickets chirping all night long as the fresh breeze wafts in through the window. Peg and I hope to do some major work in the back yard this year. There are lots of old trees and bushes back there that just take up too much space and make it difficult to mow the lawn. We plan to remove a lot of them and free up some space. I'm looking forward to it. Sean and Billy found a nice little townhouse and have moved in together. We pray that this is a wonderful new beginning for both of them and that they find peace and happiness in their lives. We wish the same for all of you. Until next time...
Update 01/16/2005 03:30 PM MST: As the new year begins, I would like to reflect on a few things that have happened in the last year. Hard to believe, but our friend Tasso has been gone for a year. It feels like just yesterday but at the same time, it seems like forever. I wish I could pick up the phone and call him sometime, just catch up and laugh like we used to. Mary, Tasso's mom is doing OK-not great, but OK. She is an incredibly strong woman. She has lived through much adversity but you'd never know it. She always greets you with a beautiful smile and lives her life with a quiet dignity and grace. She raised three boys all by herself. Three great boys. She raised me too. I was at her house more than my own back in the day. She's my mom too. She's everyone's mom. And we're all better because of it. Our prayers go to Mary, Don, Ted and Vic. Let's all take a moment to remember Tasso. May his memory be eternal. Christopher moved to Chicago this year and has had quite an adventure in the Windy City. When home for Christmas, he informed us that he'd be moving back to Salt Lake to attend a local college and work. Needless to say, we're happy he's coming home (Peg is thrilled!). In October, Peg and I went on an amazing cruise to the Caribbean and we're going again next October. Sister Shad is putting the whole thing together and we hope to have a bunch of people with us! The warm Caribbean sun would feel pretty good right about now. Peg could use some stress relief, what with family and work and the home and having to put up with me. God bless her. I don't know how she does it all but I'm very grateful and love her with all my heart. Here's hoping that 2005 is a great year for us'n and your'n. Cheers! Update 01/02/2005 02:00 PM MST: Happy New Year everyone! We hope you all had a safe and enjoyable holiday season and wish you the best for the coming year. Pretty quiet New Year around here. Peg and I just hung out with Dawn and Blair here at home. Peg drank too much wine and I drank too much beer and we hit the hay at about 12:15. It was nice. New photos from Thanksgiving and Christmas are posted in the Photo Gallery if you'd like to take a look. Soon I'll post my review of the Firefox browser. Look out Microsoft, Firefox leaves Internet Explorer in the dust! 'Til next time...
