GameSpy's Month in Review: March 2005
22:56 | by Evan
March 2005 will definitely be a time to remember. First off, with 12 Editors' Choice games, six with five-star scores -- our largest batch of must-play, must-have games ever -- the month was second to none. In addition, we saw the U.S. release of Sony's sleek machine: the PSP. Given its rave reviews (from us and elsewhere), the new handheld is poised for longevity. Games, movies, music -- get one now! And finally, as the PS2 rolls into its twilight years, we were treated to its best game ever: God of War. Break out your gaming dollars. There's lots of goodness to spend it on. Click here to check out our complete month in review.

Juiced Preview
22:52 | by Evan
The lines have definitely become clear in the racing genre. You've got simulations like Gran Turismo and Forza, street-racing titles like Need For Speed Underground, and all-out arcade racers like Burnout 3. Juiced is blurring those lines in an attempt to combine all driving-game elements under one hood. It's got speed, customization, and carnage -- along with a risk factor to make sure you don't write a check your butt can't cash. Check out our complete preview.

NHL: EHM Promo
13:14 | by Evan
SEGA Europe and Sports Interactive are offering hockey fans an unmissable opportunity to feature in the game's latest incarnation, NHL: Eastside Hockey Manager 2005. The game, which is due for release this summer, boasts an incredible 32,000 players and staff all listed in minute detail with more than 50 attributes each. However, as the game progresses and players retire, the database evolves and replaces the real players with fictional 'regenerated' players. Through this Face in The Game' promotion, SEGA and Sports Interactive are offering fans the opportunity to become one of these regenerated players.

To become a Face in the Game, EHM fans need to submit a digital photograph of themselves that will be used as the face of one these 'regenerated' players. In addition to providing a digital representation of their face, fans should also supply their name, age, favourite club and as many details as possible so that Sports Interactive can add depth to their new digital persona.

187 Ride or Die Announced
13:13 | by Evan
Ubisoft announced today 187 Ride or Die, a combat racing game throwing players into a street racing war where victory and survival depends on your driving skills. 187 Ride or Die is due out this summer for Xbox, PS2, GameCube and PC.

Featuring the voices and likenesses of Larenz Tate, Noel Gugliemi, and Guerilla Black, 187 Ride or Die is the account of a young man living on the streets and dealing with the threat of death on a daily basis. Forced to rise above his environment, Buck (Tate) must defend his home and the territory of his mentor Dupree (Black), from a menace of thugs led by Cortez (Gugliemi).

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Preview
10:41 | by Evan
The first Midnight Club was one of the few nice surprises from the uninspired launch line-up of the PlayStation 2. Its blend of city cruising and racing, unique at the time, proved to be a potent combination. It was even more so in 2003's Midnight Club II, which added tons of content and excellent online play. Now, near the end of the current console cycle, Rockstar is completing its makeshift trilogy by taking the series for one final spin.

If what they've showed us so far is any indication, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition could easily be the best of the three. In fact, it's so good that they had to switch the title from Roman to Arabic numerals. Wow! Head on over to GameSpy.com for our complete preview.

Shaq Attack Interview
10:32 | by Evan
Tracy Stevens over at IGN Sports had the privilege to sit down with the Shaq attack himself, Shaquille O'Neal, talking about all the good stuff from shoguns to ninjas to the Pythagorean Theorem, and oh yeah, basketball. Here's a taste:

IGN Sports: You talked about the young guys that are playing the center position that are the future of the game, which one of those guys out there right now has impressed you the most with their development?

Shaq: Amare. Somebody told me one time when I was in Phoenix that it was like an old me playing against a young me. I used to dunk, run the court and dunk, don't play no defense, and it was fun playing against him, I would have to say him.
