March 04, 2005 - Just as First Contact is reaching stores (review next week), Paramount is preparing the film's limp follow-up, Star Trek: Insurrection, for Special Collector's Edition release on June 7, 2005. No price has been announced, but these SCE releases are typically around $19.99.

No word on whether it will sport a new transfer, although the original was pretty good. Audio will be in Dolby Digital 5.1, like the original, and DTS. There won't be an audio commentary, but we will get another text commentary by Michael and Denise Okuda.

Disc two will be loaded with extras, which makes up for the near-nothing we got with the original Insurrection release. The extras break down as follows:
