Mailbag: March 7

Mario tennis was schedules for a 2004 release. What happenned to it? any news? I loved that emulated tennis game on Animal Crossings and apparently Mario Tennis for GameBcolor was pretty good.

Camelot tends to do its own thing. As far as we know, the Game Boy Advance version's still on the way with its GameCube connectivity, but that's as far as we know about it. Camelot's games usually spring up out of nowhere, so the first screens and details could just pop up at any time, even before E3.

Is Nintendo going to release any budget Players Choice games or any other type of games cheaper that the usual price? If they are how much would they sell for?

Hayden

It's a little more difficult to do a "Players Choice" line for Game Boy Advance since cartridges cost much more than disc-media. With the huge drop in cartridge prices in the past few months, though...you never know. There are a lot of games debuting at 19.99, many of them with cartridge SRAM, so it's getting rather cheap to do a run of GBA carts. Maybe this will be how Nintendo will sustain the Game Boy Advance line until the next Game Boy's ready to go.

I have lost my instruction booklet for my new game. Please could you help, where can I get another or can I download it.

Yeah, you "lost" your booklet. Uh huh. I'm sure it just magically vanished when you Kazaa'd the game, right? Most companies don't publicly archive the booklets for obvious reasons...so that's a no go. If you want to contact the company who made the game, they might be able to help you out.

Last night my friend and I were talking about the GBA classic Series, and games we'd like to see. Some games have been mentioned before in previous mailbags like Castlevaina 2 (my fave of the series btw) & Contra. But an idea I had that got me really excited that I would like to see is a combo of Tecmo Bowl and Super Tecmo Bowl (particularly the later). How awsome would it be to have these two games? Especially if they had wireless capablilities to challenge friends. Hell they could release a whole sports theam collection with RBI baseball, blades for steel, etc. My question is is it possible for Nintendo to release the the Tecmo Bowl games? We couldn't remember what company did those, was it Tecmo? Anyway I thought I'd pass along an idea I think is awesome, perhaps we can get some buzz going around and we can have our hands on these games in the future.

Stalemem.

Nintendo could work with Tecmo to bring Tecmo Bowl to the system, sure, though if it has the NFL or NFL Players Association licenses, they would most likely have to be axed since the players rights would have to be repurchased. Actually, Jakks Pacific's bringing Tecmo Bowl to the plug-and-play controller format...these guys usually do classic retro gaming right, so watch for that one this fall.

nice article. it gives alot of understanding. i have some questions. when are these sd things supposed to comes out and when they do where can i get them?

Chris

SD Cards are already available in the US. They work in Panasonic cameras and televisions. You can get them at Comp USA, Best Buy, or any other place that sells compact media chips.

Twisted slipping away? No! Can you say it is not so? I just got a ad from Toys R Us saying they would have it in store March 16th... I'm sure you will update the news if you hear anything, but if you don't hear anything, could you let us know what you think of this?

Josh O.

We've been hearing that you won't get to play the US version of Twisted until the Summer. Bummer, too, because the GBA sequel is such an awesome and creative package of games, and far superior to the DS version that's been released. That's probably why Nintendo's delaying it -- to give the DS version a fair shot, and to open a window of Nintendo DS sales for anyone wanting the latest Wario Ware package.

I was wondering why Fire Emblem did not feature at all in any of the Game Boy games of the year categories for last year? It was an excellent game and should have deserved to win at least one award or even be a runner up, but it wasnt anywhere to be seen. How come?

Simple answer: it came out in 2003. Duh.
