Porcupine Tree's Deadwing
The follow up to the band's 2002 release In Absentia, Deadwing is scheduled for a Tuesday May 2005 release.
Produced by principal songwriter/guitarist Steven Wilson, Deadwing features a total of ten new tracks including the title track, which is whopping ten-minute epic as well as the first radio single, "Shallow," which in Wilson's own words is "the equivalent of a big, dumb rock song, but in the way that people who are not dumb would do." The rest of the album features songs with titles ranging from "Lazarus," to "Halo," (which features Adrien Belew on guitar), and "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here." Other guests on the album include Opeth's Mikael Ackerfeldt who lends backing vocals and secondary guitar work to a number of tracks. And for the devout, Deadwing also contains the newly re-recorded bonus track "Shesmovedon" which originally appeared on the band's Lightbulb Sun album.
