EA Sports Fight Night Round 2 Super Punch Out FAQ (SNES) by FrogTheKnight
Super Punch-Out!! Walkthrough/FAQ by FrogTheKnight Super Punch-Out ----------------- Walkthrough Credits to: No one, really. I was just bored and went through this game again :D Note: Please don't use this on a site without my consent. I mean, it ain't like I am going to say "HA HA! J00 R TEH N00b! j00 R NOT W0RTHY!!" I won't. I'd be thrilled actually, but I'd like to know where it is being used at :D. To ask, just email me at LostShadowKnight@hotmail.com ----------Minor Circuit---------- ~~ Gabby Jay ~~ Like in most Boxing games, the first guy you fight is basically dumb and stupid. At first, he might give you some trouble, but basically, just punch his face, and if he blocks, hit him in the middle area. Keep doing that, and alternate. Don't just keep punching left, or punching right. If you throw a left punch, and he blocks, hit him in the middle with a right punch. Also, when you're meter at the bottom of the screen turns on and starts blinking, that means your special punch can be used. Try to use the STRONG super punch after you hit him once, and it should deliver some nice damage. After MAYBE losing one round or two, you should beat him. If you get KO'ed by him once, you're gonna need to practice quite a bit ;). Not that that's BAD. ~~ Bear Hugger ~~ This guy gets tough. I lost to him a while before I knew what to do. All you have to do is hit him in the face, then DUCK when he tries to pound at you, DUCK and then hit him in the face. BECAUSE HE IS FAT, HIT HIM IN THE FACE AND ONLY HIS FACE. When you get your Super Punch up, use the HARD punch. After getting use to his strategy, you'll see what he's gonna do and you'll beat him. ~~ Piston Hurricane ~~ Now he is quite tough if you don't know how to dodge his attacks. His attack might knock you out if you don't know to avoid it. Use the Gabby Jay strategy, and just hit him in certain patterns, and when he looks like he is going to hit, dodge to the left or right. Now when he goes back, and does a little growl, and is stepping forward, that means trouble. He is gonna throw 20 quick punches, and finish off with a strong one, so what you can try to do is when he backs off, and then lunges forward, punch him. If you miss, then dodge to the right, and try to punch him in between his blows, and hopefully you'll survive. EXTRA HINT: When he does his Hurricane Rush, block high, block low, block high, block low, block high, block low, WAIT, then duck and you will not receive any damage. Thanks to McDougall MacLellan for this strategy! ~~ Bald Bull ~~ He is easy, but hard. He is slow, but his attacks hurt ALOT. A good thing to do is kinda learn what punches he is gonna throw. Don't attack him until you seem him about to attack YOU. Then move to the left, then quickly punch him in the face. It takes more damage. Try to do that till you get your Super Punch. Once you get that, the fight should get more easier. He gets fazed very easily, so if you land one blow to his face, he will be paralyzed enough for you to get him with a strong Super Punch. Do that till he gets knocked out. After he gets knocked out once, and you rough him up a bit, he will back off and charge at you. You can do the smart thing and MOVE to the left or right, or do the honorable (AND STUPID) thing and go for the blow. AS soon as he takes his THIRD leap forward, punch him to the gut, and if you're lucky, One hit kill. If your not, one hit KO on you. Right after he swings, if you dodged it, keep thrashing him and avoid that charge move, which he will continually do after you knock him out 2 times. You miss, you get KO'ed. If you are too nervous to attack him during his bullcharge, everytime after he strikes after it, move to the left, then quickly try to hit him. ---------- Major Circuit ---------- ~~ Bob Charlie ~~ He isn't really hard, only he strafes more and can dodge quickly. You can easily land some quick blows, and avoid his spinning punch by stepping to the left or right. Also, he tends to make fake-out punches, so keep aware of these, and you'll easily beat him. ~~ Dragon Chan ~~ This is the part of the game when it starts getting real cheap. Aside from One Hit KO's, Dragon Chan can KICK. The best way to beat him is the pacifist way. Way till he strikes, dodge, and unleash hell. Once you get the Super Bar up, do the One Punch + Super Punch Combo. Things to watch out for are his kicks. When you see the chinese text next to his name, that means he's gonna start kicking. If he moves to the left, move to the right, and vice versa. The MAIN thing to watch out for is his one hit KO kick. When he backs off to the ropes, he's gonna jump on one of them, then to the other side, then kick you. When you see him about to jump off the ropes for the second time, DUCK! Just avoid his kicks and strike after he punches, and you'll be fine! ~~ Masked Muscle ~~ This guy cheats even more. He SPITS in your eye. He has some very strong uppercuts, and when he shakes one of his fists, hes gonna do a three strike combo. You'll be warnedwhen he is going to spit, so move to the left or right till the spit wears off. If you come back to the center too fast, you'll have spit in your eye, and you'll have to dodge like never before. Use the Punch + Super Punch Combo, and a Rapid Punch after he spits at you, and the fight should go by quickly. ~~ Mr. Sandman ~~ Now is the time to put all your dodging abilities to a test. This guy can hit hard, defend hard, and is pretty fast. For the first round, he uses quite a bit of uppercuts. Dodge quickly after he starts doing his foot shuffle, and you'll be fine. Entering the second round, he will do around the same things, and do the feet shuffle more oftenly. Upon the third round, he is going to do his combo and keep punching you in a certain pattern. The pattern is: Right punch, foot shuffle followed by three consecutive uppercuts, right swing, foot shuffle + three uppercuts again, fake out, two quick right punches and a quick left punch. In between, he will throw in a random uppercut. just watch out for the blows, and hit him in between attacks and the battle is won! ---------- World Circuit ---------- ~~ Aran Ryan ~~ Yes, like he taunts you, your punches won't faze him. That is, your normal punches. Hit and run, and build up your Special Punch. When you have it ready, hit him with a normal punch to his face, then hit him with the Super Punch. Right after you hit him, keep tapping the Super Punch button, cause he is going to tackle you, then throw you and punch you again. If you dont hit him with the Rapid Punch, you can't avoid his tackle, so just avoid the punch he tries to throw afterwards. Now the real annoying thing about him is his suped up Hurricane Rush. Unlike Piston Hurricane's punch's, this guy is gonna go WAY faster and throw WAY more. He throws 24 real fast punches, then finishes with an uppercut. If you see him pull back, he is going to do it. The best way to dodge them all is when he throws his first punch, dodge to the right, then when block his next punch, then move to the right, then dodge. So every odd punch (1,3,5...) you move to the side, and every even (2,4,6....) you block. If you manage to survive his first rush, he does it AGAIN. Keep to the same pattern, and dodge them all, then hit him when his guard is down. Avoid his Rush and hit him hard with the Super Punch, and you got it. ~~ Heike Kiero ~~ This GUY, yes GUY, will piss you off. He is one of the most annoying boxers, and unfortunately, one of the strongest too. Use the Dragon Chan pattern, wait for him to strike and THEN hit. Unlike Dragon Chan, he doesnt kick but he uses his hair and the Mirage Dance. When you see him duck, move to the left, and when he comes around again, DUCK. His hair can kill you with one shot. Also, when he uses the Mirage Dance, if you have your Super Punch ready, keep trying to use the rapid ones. Strike hard when you need to, and fast when you need to, avoid the hair, and he's as good as KOed! ~~ Mad Clown ~~ This guy is similar to Bear Hugger only because he taunts you to hit his stomach. Don't throw stupid punches, cause he takes advantage of it. You miss, he hits you. After he throws a punch, hit him, and avoid his strong punches. He has three very strong moves. His tilting punches are commonly used by him. When he tilts to the right, DODGE TO THE RIGHT. If he tilts to the left, DODGE TO THE LEFT. That one strike can take ALOT of damage. His second strong move is his Hug and Punch. You can tell he is going to do this when he raises his two gloves to his chest. When he does this, DUCK! After you duck, he will do one of the tilt punches. Remember, he strikes left, you dodge left and vice versa. His strongest one is his juggling balls. You will know he is going to do this when he backs off and starts juggling. After a few seconds, he will start chucking them at you. He will always throw two, which means there is only one way you can go to dodge. Pay attention to the open space. If he throws two balls to the side, stay in the middle. If he throws two with an open space on the left, move to the left and so on. If you have trouble with this, just press start when he throws them, and you can take a sneak peak at where to go ;). After he throws 3 sets, DUCK!! After that, unlease hell on him! Avoid his three stong moves, attack hard, and dont his his stomach, and you will be fine! In the third round, when he uses Show Time, he just does three hit punches, and the shift punching. Strike after the 3-punch combo, and avoid the shift punch, and you'll do fine. ~~ Super Macho Man ~~ I have beaten the last boss of the last series in under a minute, but I still have trouble with this guy. He punches fast, he's strong, and he has a move that can take out 80% of your energy that he will keep doing up to 13 times. His weakness is his body, so whenever you have a super ready, hit him in the chest, not in the face. He uses 3 patterns: Excercise A, B, and C. A is two right punches, and a fast left. Excercise B is 3 fast uppercuts, and Excercise C is like Excercise B, only alot slower and the easiest to avoid. Excercise A can be avoided by just holding up and blocking all his shots. Excercise B can be avoided by quickly dodging to the sides, and Excercise C by moving to the side, and because it's slow, you can know when to dodge. Now the main killer is his super swing. When you hear this weird sound, prepare to duck. After you duck once, duck AGAIN just in case because this move can be repeated up to thirteen times. Avoid his punches, hit him hard in the chest when you can, and hopefully you can do it. ---------- Special Circuit ---------- ~~ Narcis Prince ~~ Right off from the pre battle taunt, and from his name, you should know what his weakness is. His face! When the battle starts off, hit him in the chest, and wait for him to get fazed, then go for his face. After you hit him once to the face, he goes ballistic! He loses his temper, and skill, and attacks in anger. Sure hes sloppy, but he is quick and strong, so watch out! When he starts blinking, hold up, and after you block his three punches, punch him in the gut, and while he is fazed, hit him in the face. When he starts attacking in rage, hit his face as many times as you want to, and use the Super Punch for some hefty damage. Just do this and you will be fine. The two ways to get him to drop his defense on his face is to hit him after you BLOCK his three hit combo, and wait for him to do an uppercut. Hit him in the gut, and his defense is down. After a quick while, you'll be done. ~~ Hoy Quarlow ~~ This old guy is HARD. He moves with the speed of a ninja, and hits hard cause of that stupid stick. This guy you HAVE to wait till he strikes so you can hit him, cause he dodges everything else. Watch out for his 3-hit combo with the stick. He will hit you three times, then hit you once more. When you see him raises his hands to the side, hold up and dodge the first three hits, then when he tries to hit you again, move to the side. This guy is also hard to hit, since he moves to where you hit him. If you hit him left, he moves to the right, if you hit him right, he moves to the left. So once you punch him, punch him left, right, left, right. He has this backhand slap which is kinda hard to avoid, but when you hear a HUAH!, try to duck fast. When he jumps back and keeps jumping around, avoid his hits. If he appears on the left side, dodge to the right and vice versa. When you see him put the stick infront of him, he will hit you three times on the right, three on the left, two on the left, then two on the right. That one is hard to avoid, and good thing it doesnt take much damage, but try to move to the side as many times as you can. Just avoid that stick of his and you'll have him beat. ~~ Rick Bruiser ~~ If you look at his record, you should be scared. This guy is hard, and by hard I mean throwing controller against the wall hard. First off, this guy can disable your fists. So if you hit him, and he blocks it, he can grab your hand and hit it, making you unable to use your fist for a long while, so try not to hit his body at ALL. Go for the face and only the face. This guy is real unpredictable, so I will just give you things to watch out for. When he blinks, he is going to do two side punches, than an uppercut. So move to the left, then duck. Also, when he does an uppercut, followed by another one, keep a close eye on his elbow. After he strikes with the second uppercut, come to the middle, then quickly dodge to the side again. If you come back to the middle to quickly, he will bring it down on you, and it hurts. The real fatal move he has is when he jumps up into the air, stomps down and freezes everything, then delivers a one-hit KO. When he leaps into the air, don't move until he ALMOST touches the floor. Dodge to the side and keep holding the dodging button for as long as you can. Watch out for his reversal punches, cause sometimes after you hit him, he hits you right back. You can tell when he reverses it when his face turns to the side for a while, so when you see that, keep turning to the side. Heed my words, and hopefully you'll do it... ~~ Nick Bruiser ~~ Now you get to see the oldest Bruiser in action! He has an unscathed record, and when you fight him, you'll know why. He does the same thing Rick did, you know the disabling your fists. He too is random, and unlike Rick, he won't reverse your punches. You know when he will throw a punch when he pauses momentarily, so move to the side, then attack his face. Note, you have to hit him like you did Hoy Quarlow: left, right, left, right. When he shuffles his feet, he is going to do two uppercuts. Watch out for the second uppercut, cause it can hit you two times. When you hear a drum, he is going to do his pseudo Hurricane Rush: Stronger, but slower. When he punches once, move to the side, then back to the middle and try to hit him every other punch. If done correctly, you can hit him real hard and do a continous thrashing on him. Watch out for his punches that are quick and watch out for his One Hit KO. Everytime he pulls back and leaps forward, move to the side, then duck to avoid his following two punches. He does this when the timer hits 23 seconds, 53 seconds, and 2:03. Watch his moves, dodge them, and avoid the one hit combo. After a few tries, you will KO him it will be worth it. Watch the ending, and listen to all the comments of all the boxers you KOed :D. ~~ FAQ ~~ Q: I was reading through this and I still can't beat some of the guys. What can I do? A: Well... use my dodge technique. Just wait till they hit, dodge, then hit them. Follow my guide for weakness's, and use the Super or Rapid Punch when necessary. Q: I can't beat Rick Bruiser! He is too hard! A: He's hard, I know... but you have to keep trying. He's hard but not impossible. Watch out for his hand disabling and his one hit KO, and you should do just fine.
