2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS
It has most of the styling that makes the WRX and STi so sexy. Along with the obligatory AWD, a tossable chassis and functionality, the combo makes for a realistic, if slower, alternative to the WRX.
First things first, the 2.5RS gets its name from a naturally aspirated 2.5L flat four-cylinder engine. There's no giant scoop feeding into an intercooler because there's no slug aft of the exhaust manifold. The 2.5RS runs on 165 horsepower and 166 lb-ft torque may seem weak In the face of the STi's perfect 1:1 ratio of 300 ponies and lb-ft torque, but how many chances does anyone get to open up with that much power. It does give the all-wheel drive that Subaru is known for and is mostly the same vehicle, with the same interior design, build quality and dimensions. For everyday life, the Impreza 2.5RS might provide a more livable driving experience than its turbocharged counterparts, without losing so much of that sporty driving feel. You get a taste of the WRX, just enough to whet your appetite and maybe even a little more, too. GT4 Car: Subaru Legacy 2.0GT Here's a wagon with some serious power.
