Gaius, It sounds like your telling me the show wasn't managed properly, correct? So in truth, it was never about any of the issues that have been mentioned, but rather a judgement error on the part of fox's programming department. You do make some really good points. Well my friends, you have got me very interested in this show, I love a good laugh. I think it's time I watched the damn show and made up my own mind, but thank all of you for the feedback. I count on others to inform me when I'm am missing out on something good, and you all have done this very well indeed. Thanks again you guys.

Wow. Family Guy was taken off the air because Fox screwed up terribly with their airings. Around the time it started/early episodes, Fox still had X-Files from 9-10, with 7-9 being King of the Hill, Futurama, Simpsons, random show probably another Simpsons. FG was sent packing from the tight schedule to either Tuesday or Wednesday, but got too low ratings and ended up on Thursdays from 8-9. The problem: both Survivor and Friends in the same time slot. Tough to get good ratings with that competition. Soon, FG passed away into Cartoon Network and DVD oblivion.
But then, ratings skyrocketed and sales were beyond expected. Fox began to see the error of their ways and picked up FG before CN could. Thus, on May 1, 2005, on its rightful place on Sundays with fellows Simpsons, Arrested Development, and American Dad, Season 4 begins.
As for the game, if they have the full cast from the show doing the voices and pay attention to development (make it not suck-it doesnt have to be terribly good, just not suck), people will enjoy and buy it.

The DVD sales were not why the series got resurected. What did it was the show having around 800k-1.1 million viewers EVERY night on the cartoon network at 11pm. 800k-1.1 viewers in a coveted demographic (us lol). Those are better numbers then some prime-time network shows lol. Cartoon network wanted to pick up the show...fox realized they might have something in the franchise...released the DVD's to cash in and were shocked by the demand. Now watch it get cancelled lol =p Hope the game isnt a crazy taxi or GTA rip-off lol.

its cool, ocal. im just a family guy geek who read your message wrong, but i get what you meant. family guy's popularity exploded after the fact by dvd sales and pure word of mouth. its the first prime show ever to get picked back up after its cancellation. dont feel bad about bein from england, im from tennessee, lol. i'd much rather be chillin somewhere in europe right now. and revan, i just watched that ep along with the "when you wish upon a weinstein"- good ****. oh, and for funcrusher, yea, that ep definitely wraps things up tidy with a good natured philosophical bit at the end. you definitely should check em out, man.

actually i have seen that episode, fun, and yea, this time around we'll keep it civil. i agree that to one not familiar with family guy or who hasnt seen that episode, it would appear racist. but, if my memory serves me correctly, the "racism" only serves to make peter look stupid, not to make the jewish look bad. for instance, after peter chases a jewish guy down, looking for someone to do his taxes, they have dinner, and the jewish man takes them to one of his jewish mass services. i thought it was a great lesson in tolerance and trying to understand other culture. toward the end, peter takes chris to try to become jewish, believing it will make him smarter and do better in school. lois rescues the day, stopping th ceremony and saying that , ****, i cant remember, but i remember it being about the right reasons for being jewish and taking what one has and ohters cultures for granted. see, the thing is, family guy takes everything with a grain of good natured salt. each seemingly racist or sexist thing serves only to show how stupid and ridiculous these prejudices are. at the end of that episode, if my memory serves me correctly, peter ends up with a better understandin and appreciation of the jewish community. i think i'll go watch this episode right now.

all of that going on in a show must be worth watching. Death2all we have had our little back and forth in the past, and I really don't feel like doing any of that again. However, I asked a friend of mine about this show, mainly to get a feel for the pace of the humor, and he began taking me through an episode. This particular episode had the main character on the hunt for a jewish person. According to my buddy, the only reason he wanted a jew is because of the stereo type surrounding them when it comes to money. I guess some would say that jews are known for being stingy, but good at make money. These are clearly racist statements which I don't agree with, but it is part of my point. Is there any chance you may have missed some of the episodes containing some of the more offensive behavior? Now I'm only asking, nothing more.

ocal, your statement on family guy offends me and couldnt be further from the truth. family guy is neither racist nor sexist, instead it shows the ridiculousness of such attitudes and prejudices. family guy is politically incorrect, but it is also clever, sarcastic, and downright good humored. aside from that, the bbc (British Broadcasting Corporation) has nothing to do with family guy. family guy is owned and has been owned since its inception by the fox network, and the new season will be beginning within the next few months, along with American Dad, which premieres after the superbowl.

Where can i preorder? While I have few hopes for the game, anything I can do to support the fabulous series will be worth it.

This is one of the worst ideas ever. Family Guy is a great show, but a videogame? Come on!

I haven't even heard of the family guy, I guess I need to start watching more T.V.(no thanks). If it is as funny as you all say, maybe the game would be worth a laugh. Was it on TV for a long time? When are they going to make a napoleon dynamite movie? Probably won't happen, but that movie made me laugh until it hurt. Nerds are so funny. Weird funny, not haha funny.

im skeptical that this will turn out to be just another whoring of a great license, but im always open to new family guy content. if they get seth mcfarlane and fg writers involved, this could turn out to be the funniest videogame ever made.

The show was awsome but had to much singing, the comedy was top notch but nobody beats Homer's stupidy!

Family Guy is without question the best cartoon ever made. Even better than the Simpsons. The reason?-Baby Stewie.

F***ing sweet. This is by far my favorite animated show. I could care less if the game sucks. I love the series so much I'll buy it just based on that. Hopefully this time around people will start watching the show and it can be a thriving series that's around for many years to come.
