February 7, 2005 - Now that we have all the info on the PlayStation Portable launch price, ship date and release game, gamers can finally concern themselves with the big question about Sony's new handheld hardware: namely, what will the game boxes look like?
Calm yourselves, citizens -- your demands for box art are about to be met.
PlayStation gamers flipped their wigs and their whigs when they got a load of what the Japanese PSP box art looked like, and now it's time for our own homegrown studios to show off what their box art crafters have designed for us. Boxes that are lovely. Boxes that are striking. Boxes that are righteous. Boxes that will satiate your craving for box art, and allow you to say, "Yes, yes I will buy a PlayStation Portable, for these are indeed the glorious images of box artistry that I had been anticipating so dearly. Salute!"
The first set of North American PlayStation Portable box arts have arrived -- there are all told around 25 games on the PSP's launch calendar, and we will be bringing unto you the remaining, reclusive box art images as the launch nears. And to be sure, we will also have package art of the PlayStation Portable itself -- veritable cavalcade of cascading images awaits!
