January 06, 2005 - IGN is looking for a Lead Video Producer. Got mad video production skills, great communication abilities, organizational savvy, and a love of games to boot? Read on.

The Lead Producer is responsible for the production and editing of original video content for IGN Entertainment. This position will develop, shoot, edit, and compress programming for delivery.

The position will be based in our Southern California offices.

Specific Duties:

Production

• ENG-style lighting, shooting and audio recording
  
• Working with editorial to set up and produce interviews and site visits
  
• Capturing content from video games and B-roll
  
• Writing and/or editing scripts for video segments
  
• Working with site editors and Network Directors to develop segment ideas
  
• Managing the weekly production calendar for a content area

Editing

• Editing on a PC based Avid Express Pro NLE
  
• Compressing content for delivery via the Web
  
• Working with site editors to capture and encode their own B-roll based video clips

Other

• Work towards a monthly impression goal for programmed content
  
• Own the processes for taking production plans from concept to launch
  
• Weekly and ad hoc progress reports for management

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• 2+ years of relevant experience
  
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
  
• Deep knowledge about video acquisition, editing and compression
  
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  
• Avid Express, FinalCut Pro, compression packages, professional video and audio equipment and lighting equipment
