February 09, 2005 - From first-time director Josh Sternfeld comes Winter Solstice. The movie tells the story of Jim Winters (Anthony LaPaglia) and the life he's trying to put back together after the unfortunate death of his wife. One light on Jim's horizon is his new neighbor, Molly Ripkin (played by Allison Janney), who he happens to fall for. This may or may not sit so well with his two sons, Pete, played by Aaron Stanford (X2: X-Men United) and Gabe, played by Mark Webber (Hollywood Ending). Gabe in particular is trying to get out from under the wing of his father, and intends to move to Florida.

Costarring in the movie is Ron Livingson (Office Space) as Gabe's summer school history professor, and Michelle Mongahan (who will soon be seen in Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) as Gabe's girlfriend, Stacey.

Winter Solstice has played the Santa Barbara, Tribeca and Vancouver film festivals. Paramount Pictures Classics has it set for limited release in New York and Los Angeles on April 8th.
