May 14, 2003 - CKY has personally been asked by metal icons Metallica to open their hometown show at San Francisco's legendary Fillmore Auditorium on Sunday, May 18th.

"Metallica is the one reason we got into rock and roll," said vocalist Deron Miller. "This is an opportunity to play with our idols. This is the call you always dream of but never expect to come!"

Ironically, this isn't the first time CKY has been handpicked by one of the biggest names in rock to perform as an opening act. Last November, CKY was tapped by none other than Axl Rose a mere two days before the much-anticipated (but ill-fated) Guns N' Roses
national tour was set to begin.

As for the show with Metallica, it marks CKY's return to the road after guitarist Chad I Ginsburg was sidelined in March as a result of breaking his tailbone. Chad's injury forced the band to cut short their sold-out headlining "Back in the Noose Again '03" tour.
