November 10, 2004 - Just less than a week before EA ships Need for Speed Underground 2, we felt you simply didn't have enough media on the game. We made it easy for you this time, too. We dropped into Arcade mode, selected the Underground Race League, picked a Nissan 350Z and stepped on the gas: the result is seven movies, including a look at the replays.
This particular course is a closed circuit with roughly four or five turns, two of which are sharp, and a small hill providing airtime. EA's game provides a cutscene look at the jump from a cinematic angle. The race itself was set up for three laps.
You'll notice that of the half-dozen cars involved, the opponent AI is quite fiesty when bunched in a group. Many times, I've watched as the AI tip, wrangle, and wipe each other out around the first turn. Usually I stay clear of these bozos, which happens to be an excellent way to give yourself the opportunity to grab and stay in first place.
Enjoy the movies and stick around, and look for our review this Friday.
