February 03, 2005 - On Tuesday March 1st, the wait will be over. At least the wait that has been ruling the lives of diehard Judas Priest fans. This is the announced release date for Angel of Retribution, the new album from the recently reunited classic line-up of vocalist Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis.

"Years from now, I really feel that this album is going to be viewed as an absolute classic metal masterpiece," says Tipton. "We're firing on all cylinders." "It almost seems like a brand new start for us," adds Downing. "We're back at full strength, having a lot of fun, and really looking forward to the future."

The new album was co-produced by Roy Z and Judas Priest, and represents the first time that this incarnation of the quintet has entered the studio and engaged in a recording session since 1990's Painkiller. "The decade that we were out of each other's company just seems to have vanished in smoke," says Halford. "When we got together to begin writing the new material, it was really a continuation of where we would have been had we made the next record after Painkiller. All the pieces were already in place."

The album will be released in two versions. The first is a 2-disc set featuring the full album and an additional DVD. The 30-minute DVD will serve as a compliment to the album and features a behind-the-scenes documentary footage and classic live tracks filmed last summer during a couple of shows in Spain. The second version of the album is a limited edition double-disc set featuring the full album and a long-form DVD bundled in special hardcover packaging. The total running time of the DVD is 1 hour, 12 minutes, highlighting the seven live cuts with 40 minutes of documentary footage.
