February 3, 2005 - Rumors did wonders for gaming tweakers when unconfirmed news came down about Ubisoft possibly picking up one of the most enjoyed PSP games of the Japanese launch, Q Entertainment's Lumines. Ubisoft is still putting together its official announcement of the game, but with today's announcement from SCEA about the PSP price and release, it's official -- gamers will be getting their groove on with a domestic release of this mondo puzzler.

Further details about the US version are still unavailable from Ubisoft, so we'll have to wait until official details are released in the coming weeks to know whether anything has changed from the Japanese import version. The Japanese game (published by Bandai overseas) won rave reviews for its addictive twist on puzzle gaming and its mind-altering techno soundtrack from Japanese DJ Mondo Grosso.

Look for Ubisoft to let it shine, and shine, and shine, and shine on the North American release of Lumines in the coming weeks.
