January 31, 2005 - This week we're covering a couple of new films for you on IGN FilmForce. There's the week's lone wide release, Boogeyman, a horror movie starring that guy that played Matt on 7th Heaven.  And we'll also be talking about Swimming Upstream, a Geoffrey Rush drama going into limited release.

The Scoop:  A young man is traumatized by the emergence of early childhood memories of terrible events that he experienced in his bedroom. Under the advice of a therapist, he returns to his boyhood home to spend one night there and face his fears of an evil entity that may or may not exist.

Swimming Upstream

Rated: PG-13 for Thematic Material Involving Alcoholism and Domestic Abuse

The Scoop: Tony Fingleton is a young man who beats the odds to become a champion swimmer in spite of his overbearing, alcoholic father (Rush) and long suffering but quietly heroic mother (Davis). Overshadowed in his father's eyes by his brothers it's only when Tony displays an extraordinary swimming talent that he feels he has a shot at winning his father's heart... and maybe Olympic gold.
