The Trek Report: Abandon Ship!
Bilingsley went on to comments that, since the series will hit its magic 100
episode mark this season, Paramount really has no financial incentive to
continue the series.
A representative of UPN told IGNFF, "Those are just the opinions of one actor. UPN has not made any decision regarding the fate of Star Trek: Enterprise at this time." ShowBIZ Data also noted that the Save Enterprise campaign is working to gather enough money for an ad in USA Today to try and bring more viewers to the series that would run during the February sweeps. Linda Park, Cunning Linguist: Those frighteningly prolific folks over at VRRRM have a video clip from Canada's SF cable channel, Space, the Imagination Station that features Enterprise's communications officer, the lovely Linda Park. Park talks about her role in the series and the use of language with the alien races. To view the clip and read a transcript complete with screen caps, check out VRRRM. More Enterprise DVD News: The DVD Answers website has some high resolution images from the first season Enterprise DVD set, due out in May. The packaging includes a very slick looking metal case that has the Enterprise patch seen on the crew's uniforms pressed into the front. Inside is a more traditional packaging featuring a photo of the cast from the first season. The 7-disc set also features 7 all new featurettes, exclusive to the set. Manny Coto Answers Questions from Fans: Current Enterprise producer Manny Coto will answer questions from fans at TheFandom website on Monday, January 31st at 8PM Eastern. Hosted by Liz Shatner, fans can submit questions by sending emailing them here. Save Enterprise Goes on the Offensive: As mentioned above, the folks over at Save Enterprise are asking for donations to get enough money to take out an ad in support of the series in the national newspaper, USA Today. Seen as a more mainstream alternative to trade newspapers like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the campaign hopes to give the rejuvenated series the promotion that, in their opinion, "UPN refuses to". Enterprise Boldly Enters Syndication: Enterprise may be having problems on the network but there seems to be no shortage of stations out there eager to add the series to their lineup. Paramount Television reports that the series has cleared over 90% of the television markets in the United States, which is a better market penetration than UPN. The Trek Report: Private Eyes Plus: UPN Chief says Trek's time may be up.
