InfoSpace Acquires IOMO
The consolidation of the wireless industry continues.
- InfoSpace has announced the acquisition of IOMO Limited, a UK-based wireless developer and publisher. Currently, IOMO distrbutes titles across many carriers and manufacturers in Europe, such as Orange and Vodaphone. IOMO titles include Scooby Doo, Tomb raider, and Colin McRae Rally 2005.

"We are excited to build our presence in Europe and to expand our role in the mobile games space by acquiring IOMO," says Jim Voelker, chairman and chief executive officer of InfoSpace, Inc. "With IOMO?s great team, strong publishing capabilities and broad distribution relationships, we will extend our reach by offering high quality mobile games to subscribers across the world."

InfoSpace's most recent, high-profile acquisition was Atlas Mobile, makers of the For Prizes! line of tournament-style mobile games.
