Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - SF-UR
Housing it up with GTA:SA radio.
- Here now is Part 6 of our on-going, in-depth breakdown of the radio stations that populate Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

SF-UR
Format: House

Precided over by DJ Hans Oberlander (as voiced by Rockstar mainstay Lloyd Floyd—he has lent his vocal talents to Manhunt and Red Dead Revolver), SF-UR is high energy, club/dance oriented station amongst the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas radio community. Focusing predominantly on the Chicago House scene, with inclusions from New York and London to round things out, the station offers up 16 different tracks that run the gamut from hi-octane sweat inducers to mid-tempo electronic enhanced slow burners.

Jomanda - "Make My Body Rock"
Lifted from this girl group's 1990 full-length album Someone To Love Me, this track is a bubbling example of the disco fallout that began in the late '70s and continued well into the '80s and '90s. Propelled by a tinny, electro pulse, it prominently features the R&B; tinged vocal harmonies from this Jersey trio.

808 State - "Pacific"
Hailing from Manchester, England, 808 State began pioneering the "Acid House" movement in 1988. Consisting of record store owner/Creed Records founder Martin Price, producer Graham Massey and Gerald Simpson, the trio dropped their first EP and began remixing projects for other artists. Simpson departed shortly thereafter and was replaced by Andrew Barker and Darren Partington. Price left in 1992. Look for a version of this track on Pacific 808:98/Cubik.

The Todd Terry Project - "Weekend"
Perhaps the defining musician/DJ amongst the New York House set, Todd Terry fused classic Disco, Chicago House, and samples galore into his own signature sound. He gained notoriety for injecting his House vibes into the music of others via classic remixes for the likes of The Jungle Brothers, Everything But The Girl, and others. This particular track can be found on the 1988 album To The Batmobile Let's Go.

Nightwriters - "Let The Music (Use You)"
This classic House track features urgent R&B; crooning complete with that classic Disco/Funk twang. These vocals are languidly dropped over a rambling bell and cymbal infused rhythm and gently swaying waves of electronic ambiance.
