December 03, 2004 - In a final closing "thud" in the story of troubled game developer and publisher Acclaim, the company's New York headquarters and its physical assets will go on auction next week.

The auction is administered by David R. Maltz & Co., Inc. and will be held on December 7. Full details can be found right here.

Acclaim officially filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on September 1, 2004, after failing to secure a $65 million loan.

While the auction covers the company's physical assets and not intellectual properties such as rights to titles, the items up for bid include 43,000 games as well as a selection of high-quality office furniture.
