November 18, 2004 - Aspyr Media, Inc. has announded that they are set to release the Stubbs The Zombie: The Soundtrack on March 15, 2005. The soundtrack features a bevy of artists including Ben Kweller, The Raveonettes, Death Cab for Cutie, Rogue Wave, Cake, The Walkmen, The Dandy Warhols, Oranger, The Flaming Lips , Clem Snide, Rose Hill Drive, Milton Mapes, and Phantom Planet.

The songs for Stubbs the Zombie: The Soundtrack were handpicked by the developers and recorded specifically for the game by a host of some of today's popular rock bands, as well as several up-and-coming artists. The soundtrack and game are further examples of how Aspyr strives to merge multimedia platforms into a full entertainment experience.

For the game, which is set in a fictional "City of the Future" circa 1959, the assembled artists each recorded new versions of songs made famous during that era. The lone exception is the zombie inspired original track "the Living Dead" by Phantom Planet (the song continues the band's zombie fetish as first unveiled in the video to their most recent hit single "Big Brat").

"Being a part of this soundtrack was a no-brainer. We're all huge video game geeks and even bigger zombie film fans," said Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet. "So, it made sense to contribute a track about joining a legion of undead."
